Huh, I thought it was Cliff Kushler that invented T9, he's the dude that came up with Swype.

I quick internet search shows either him, King or some guy named Nathan Berry... maybe they collaborated?

Actually, it looks like the only references I can find that state King was the inventor are about his death. Odd, that.

My favourite thing about T9 is that it is too difficult for my parents to understand, and their eyes are not nearly good enough to purchase a phone with a full keyboard.

In other words, they don't text.

Subby is my hero. Subtle, irreverent and hilarious. I think we have a strong contender for headline of the year.

Bravo Subby. Bravo!

I have touch screen, but still use T9 when texting, because my fat fingers don't fit on the small keyboard. I salute your genus:-):-):-)

Martin King had a dream that one day teenagers would live in a nation where they would not be judged by the hotness of their bodies, but the dirty, dirty content of their sexts.

I use T9 and I'm failing to see what's so good about this headline, someone care to point out something I'm missing? Only word that seems out of place is did and it doesn't even make sense if you tried to type it.

2010-09-24 06:16:55 PM
Very, very sneaking submitted.

My mom is 66, is a gets-confused-by-working-a-cash-register technophobe, and still texts reasonably well. She has a very simple phone, so I assume she's using T9. It's actually pretty scary. I never showed her how to do it or anything, she got her own cell and one day just started texting me out of the blue.

Also scary was when she commented about one of my dad's particularly elaborate and flamboyant fly-fishing flies, that it resembled Lady Gaga. How the fark does she know who that is, and would think to reference her in conversation?

/ farking parents, how do they work?

don't see the genius in the headline. subby did not even use the right amount of letters, which would make it a typo and not a wrong prediction from t9
