Well, it's not really a vacation, subby. It was without pay. Cops shoot and taser people and get suspensions with pay. They get vacations. This idiot didn't.

I never EVER talk about my job on FB cause I have supervisors on my friends list. People on my friends list always are biatching about work though and I'm dying for someone to get fired over it.

2010-09-22 10:03:04 AM
also why even bother posting you hate coming to work? Unless your job is getting blowjobs all day I don't see why anyone would bother saying that

2010-09-22 10:07:45 AM
I'm still surprised that people haven't gotten the memo:

Anything you post on Facebook is public information and can be used against you.

Thanks,

Employers

Theoretically, the only people who can read what I write on facebook are my friends. Certainly, they're people who have chosen to join a group called "friends." So, tell me exactly where the line is - tell me which of these things merits discipline:

1. I send a message to my friends on facebook that says I hate my job

2. I send the same message through email to my friends.

3. I send the same message through a text message to my friends.

4. I meet with my friends and tell them that I hate my job.

Depends on who your "friends" are. If you're like most Facebook users with 200 friends that you barely know, then don't whine if it comes back to bite you.

Pretty stupid IMHO, my loyalty for my employer starts at the door and ends with my paycheck.

None. of course, none of these is what he did.

He posted on his wall and failed to set his privacy settings to prevent non-friends from seeing the post. It's as if he bought a billboard and expected only certain people to be able to read it.

WOW, this is why I keep my gripes about my workplace to a very select few places and people. NOT including Facebook, Twitter, etc. This teacher got off SUPER lucky. It still amazes me, in THIS economic climate, that people still haven't gotten the memo not to pull this crap. If you're looking to get a job, or keep the one you've got, ZIP YOUR LIPS. Maybe have one or two trusted persons, who are in NO way related to your workplace, to commiserate with. A lot of people hate their jobs. Trash it SENSIBLY, if you must. Sheesh.

These days getting face time with your teacher isn't always done in the classroom.

need hot teacher pics to support this

the Reason said teacher hates his job is because he works in a crony capitalist cesspool of administrators and public school districts that are underfunded and administered to death because rich f*cks don't owe any taxes. he's given more and more to do because the district doesn't have the tax funds to hire more teachers. after all, the rich have to make more and more money. its never enough.

and besides, the wealthy send their mice to private schools where everything is fine and dandy.

Umm...who said that you have to be smart to be a teacher? You should be, but most are idiots - they do not become teachers because they are so "gifted" - if they were they would be "doing" - you know the old expression.

Also - how the hell does this jack-off not get fired? If those are his true sentiments - which they are - how could he possibly do his job effectively?

He cannot, and my two comments are why American children are falling farther and farther behind other countries.

2010-09-22 11:59:43 AM
And this is why I use an alias on FB. The only people on my friends list are actual friends--no family, no co-workers, no casual acquaintances, nobody from elementary or HS that I haven't talked to in decades, etc. If anybody looks for my real name on FB, they get some old woman in France.

I understand this perspective, but as a teacher I wouldn't want my students to think that I hate them or my job. It would be difficult to maintain any amount of respect in the classroom.

/love my job

It's quite understandable that you have no idea which taxes fund schools and which don't, since you're not on the paying end of things.

Those rich people you rail against pay pretty high property taxes to live in those nice neighborhoods that don't include denizens such as yourself. So consider the fact that they DO pay property taxes, which fund schools that their little snowflakes dont' even attend.

Never let the facts get in the way of a good troll, though, right?

I"m sure the fact that teachers are under paid, under funded and under staffed and have to deal with spoiled shiathead kids never crossed your mind? In other countries education is VALUED, kids in this country seem to think of getting an education as an inconvenience.

Try teaching a bunch of kids that don't want to learn, all while being underfunded AND making about $30-35k a year. Most teachers get summer jobs to makes ends meet while school is out.

I don't either, but that's because it would be unprofessional and I work on products that haven't been released yet. It's not exactly top secret but in theory I can be fired for publicly discussing anything related to what I'm working on.

Also, I'm not an immature tool like the dbag in TFA.

Believe it or not, many teachers work during the summer. Holiday 'breaks' aren't usually breaks for teachers, they still have lesson plans, meetings and other crap to do. Just because the kids aren't in class doesn't mean the teachers aren't working.

Another rule of Facebook no one tells you about -- if any of your friends is under 25, then anything you post as "friends-only" has a 50% likelihood of becoming public through them. Young people today just don't have that filter most of us use to tell us that some things shouldn't be public.

/also they won't keep off my lawn

What's that Monty Python skit where John Cleese, in schoolclothes, says "Mummy, I don't want to go to school today! The kids hate me! The teachers hate me! I don't want to go!" ?

I understand that kids are horrible little creatures, but they cannot be part of the equation when talking about teachers not doing their jobs. First off, everyone has issues at work: For the teacher, it's the kids. For someone else - it's the clients, or the customers, or the boss - you get it - everyone deals with opposition.

But yes - you are right - our country as a whole undervalues education. You can get free college education in farking Cuba, for crying out loud, here you are in debt for the rest of your life - and it doesnt even get you a job! And yes, the teachers are underpaid "worker bees", and "tenured" professors make six figures, but sit back on their ass and teach worthless crap dating back 50 years, because they have no incentive not too.

My personal guideline for Facebook. I don't post anything I wouldn't say to my boss, mother, and girlfriend. As you might guess I don't post much, when I do it's mostly about my favorite sports teams.

I save the innapropriate and edgy humor for Fark, where the posting is anonymous.

Ball of Confusion: Linux

and don't YOU mention that all americans with homes pay property taxes for those homes.

and please don't mention that back in the 50's thru the 70's, the wealthiest 2% upper tax bracket was at 90%. yep, 90%. and they were still wealthy. since your dirt napper ronnie reagan got into office, the upper limit is now around 40%.

and PLease please don't mention the 18 Billion in tax dodging money from wealthy americans who hid their money is UBS Swiss bank. the IRS knows about it and is supposedly working with the swiss government to get the names of those who are hiding their money from american taxes.

whatever you do, don't get on Google and find out the truth about your nation that the corporate owned TV "news" networks feel you don't need to know.

Ball of Confusion: Linux

and whatever you do, please don't mention that now, Capital ownership pays less taxes than income.

that means that ownership of wealth pays lower taxes (as a percentage of value) than FOLKS WHO WORK FOR A LIVING.

so how's your rearend feel now???
