He waited too long to harvest, they are better small and you encourage the plant to produce more if you pick them around 4 or 5 inches. You can get zucchini bigger then that if you just leave them on the plant long enough.

I bet those taste like crap with pumpkin(seed) sized seeds in it. Some arse munch kept bringing all his huge cucumbers, zuchini, and summer squashes in to work to give out. Wouldn't shut up about how huge they were, yet no one would take them cuz they all tasted bitter and fibrous.....It ain't a greenthumb that makes you keep your vegs on the vine too long.
