Personnaly I have no prob with nudity. One of my ex's used to say I secretly wanted to be a nudest. I would say its not really a secret!.....but the words "THONG" & "MAN", should never be used together!!!

In a discussion in one of my college classes, we were discussing the double standard between the dress code (exposed nipples) for men and women in this country. I argued the same point as you did. But I couldn't believe there were others in the class that thought women should be covered because some people can't control themselves. I thought we made prisons for people who can't control themselves, so the rest of us can live in peace. Damn closed-minded conservative college brats. I should have smacked them, but I controlled myself. . . .

Rillion - I don't have a problem with nudity, but some restrictions are needed for health concerns. Most folks probably don't want to be sitting on a bus seat covered in the icky things that can come from peoples' nether-regions: dingle berries, puss from a herpes outbreak, Olestra (TM) leakage, etc, etc. Stuff like that I'd rather not find sticking to the back pocket of my khakis after the ride home from work.

Attacks on topless and nude dance clubs. Sorry, don't buy it. And that goes for male freedoms, as well...sorry if you're so utterly repressed that seeing another male naked strikes you catatonic, but that's your hangup for you to deal with....not inflict it on everybody else. MorningBreath, men can totally control themselves. It's a tiny subset of men who cant - and they seem to come from countries where nudity is repressed like the uk, us or arabic world.

I've been in scandinavia a few times and nudity is no big deal there. At 18 i was in a 4-person sauna with 5 girls and 2 other guys. Everyone was naked, drunk, and completely unfazed by the nudity.

Societal conditioning makes us associate nudity with sex, i cant think of any biological reason for this since we're the only species that wears clothes. I suspect it was some misguided puritanical movement that got us in this position years ago

If public nudity were commonplace in the us then there'd be no problem with it. Unfortunately the transition from being deviant to commonplace is going to be difficult and i dont see how there will ever be a critical mass of people who'll get naked while it's frowned upon.

Even as a guy, I dont think i'd like to be naked in a context where i was going to be judged for doing it (doubt my finacee would approve either) but it feels great when its accepted.

It's called "Santorum," and it seeks to eternalize the memory of Senator Santorum by affixing it as a label to that unhappy combination of fecal matter and lube that is sometimes the by-product of anal sex. Just fyi.

I never said that I would dictate the appropriate time and place for nudity, and I never said it was wrong. Common sense tells you that nudity is wrong in a lot of places, i.e restaurants, weight rooms, any where involving community seating, etc And it is also wrong in places where there are children.

Wait. You say you never said it was wrong, but then you said common sense tells you that it is wrong in a lot of places. So you ARE saying it is wrong in a lot of places, but you still haven't the question: What is wrong with being nude? Specifically, WHY is it wrong? How does it hurt others?
