>>The research also shows that an attractive face is >>clocked by the brain in a matter of seconds.

Seconds?? I dont know how slow these people are, but I'm pretty sure that should be milliseconds...

WannaFarK: I second that insight!

uhm. welll.... besides humans being silly and all (ok, ok, so humans aren't silly... they're farking ugly), there was an intresting notion there.
the part of the brain assosiated (sp?) with pretty faces is the reward mechanism. now, lemme just assume that boobies affect the brain in a similar matter (as bigpeeler had the courtesy of showing). now, the reasearcher dude said that is has to be some sort of uber-face to get addicted to it, so lets just say one can get addicted to large boobies... hmmm... now, following up on that notion, shouldn't all of us boobie-addicts get free clinics to treat us?

It's not my brain that lights up, it's my head (the one eyed one)

If finding an attractive mate is an an evolutionary advantage, then Keith Richards has escaped his pre-wired fate by finding ANY sort of woman who is willing to reproduce with him.

The term Puzo uses to describe Mike Corleone's reaction upon seeing Appolonia for the first time translates to "lightning bolt". So now there's some science to it. Datsa nice.

The romantic saying "their eyes met across a crowded room" could have some scientific basis.

Uh, no. This doesn't make sense. Two people's seeing each other has nothing to do with this. It would make sense if it sais "their eyes met across a crowded room, and they instantly fell in love," or something like that. But mere eyes meeting has nothing to do with this. I have met eyes with several unattractive people.

Sorry, I hate bad journalism. I hate good journalism, too. And puppies.

the actual brain lights up??

is that a scientific way of describing the affect?

As well as the more obvious rewards of finding a suitable mate, associating with attractive people perhaps enhances someone's social status.

perhaps??? i think thats obvious

Okay, everybody sing:
"Who can turn the world on with a smile? Who can take a nothing day and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile?..."

or a big red X

Isn't that just a little surge of energy? I mean, anytime you're attracted to someone and you make eye contact, don't you feel that little jerk inside? Isn't this kind of obvious?
