Oh, I don't know. I'd be more than willing to pawn this mediocre player (a sports diva by any other name) off on the Bulls, if only to watch them be the child in the family that daddy ESPN always overlooks until, on one stormy night, they appear in his room with a drawn chef's knife.

That kind of backlash would almost be worth it.

Keep 'em. We've already taken one sports crybaby off your hands.

this trade would not be worth it for the Bulls, I think Noah and Taj are more valuable to the Bulls (especially Noah's D and Melo's lack there of) - Melo was slighted by BronBron, Wade and Bosh and now he is going full Diva.

He has a right to be concerned about the direction of the Nuggets, but he is not a game-changing player, which is sad since I thought he would turn into the best from that class.

guys i'm not sure we're supposed to be talking about this. i hear melo hates snitches.

I respectfully disagree. Noah is a great effort player. Melo would be an upgrade. Trade Deng and Noah/ or Gibson and a pick.

I think he is a game changer. Put him with Boozer and Rose, championship contender.

there was a ton of talent in Denver and they never won a thing - I actually really like Anthony, but he doesn't have a killer instinct to lead this team - and would he care that it isn't his team as it is Rose's?

He's just a tatted up crybaby, soft and stupid without an ounce of leadership in him.

Anthony has the talent ability to score 30+ a night on a consistent basis.

As far as the team leader, such as in the locker room, it's Chauncey Billups.

Yeah, but his defense is suspect and a 30-point night doesn't mean much when the guy you're guarding scores about the same. Hell, vs. Utah in the playoffs if you had HD you could spot exact moments when he decided to not play defense and pout because the ref didn't grant him a "superstar benefit of the doubt" foul. I'm not saying he sucks, but I don't think we ever see the entire picture with Melo.

On the flip side, he wants out and at least he's not going the LeBron-Douchebag route and keeping his intentions a secret. The Nuggets front office (whoever they currently are) has time to work a deal to get something in return.

I don't disagree with anything you said.

Two things happened to Anthony, in my opinion, that matured him and his appearance. First, being allegedly involved in that drug thing/snitches. Second, Chauncey Billups' influence when he arrived a couple of years ago.

Carmelo has gotten a lot better at improving his image, but it's more about him not doing stupid stuff rather than stepping up and doing things off the court.

Yeah, he whines about treatment he does or does not get. I don't need my HDTV to detect that.

Anthony has little to no clout in doing something LeBron-esque. I don't think his intentions are secret, but he does a good job at not saying anything when someone shoves a microphone in his face. Telling friends he wants to go to The Knicks or Bulls and putting up his suburban Denver mansion up for sale is a shiatty way of keeping a secret.

I do see where he's coming from with the skepticism about the future of the team. Very legitimate concerns about Karl, Billups and Nene. The Nuggets are in a pickle with the impending CBA problems.

But for the same reasons Charles Barkley stated about LeBron, you get much more for trying to be the man on a team than YOU helped propel upward.

Anthony doesn't give Kroenke (extremely low-profile Nuggets owner) a lot of credit. Kroenke will spend to get the right players.

Anthony cites concern about the Nuggets franchise as reason for not signing an extension and wanting a trade. His #1 preferred team to go to, the New York Knicks, which should say enough about where his priorities and ability to figure out what a competent franchise might be.

I hope the Nuggets trade him to the Clippers. Let him live in Bryant's shadow for a year and wait a bit when the NBA doesn't play next year.

Offer only Deng and James Johnson. If they don't want it, screw em. Make a deal with NY or tell him to STFU.

Exactly. Maybe even a pick but nothing more. Noah should be untouchable (he was the MVP of the team last year even though Rose is a better player) and Taj is a great role player.

Carmelo is exactly the type of player that Chicago needs. LeBron would not have been a good fit. Carmelo is a perfect fit.

how so? Looking at losing Noah and Taj - what is Anthony's role in the new look team?

My favorite Melo highlight is his "slap and run" fight that cost him a bunch of games. Unfortunately can't find a YouTube of it.

Most of you must have misread the report. Chicago is not going to trade Noah for Anthony, or probably anyone else for that matter. Chicago would offer Deng, Gibson, and Johnson.

That would be an incredible deal for the Bulls.

LeBron plays defense and actually can distribute the ball on offense - he'd fit with any team in the league. Carmelo is a chucker.

But if they only have to give up Deng and the rookies from last year, I don't care, may as well bring him on. He's obviously way better than Deng.

agreed - if he doesn't fit he is trade worthy

Oh please do. Then the Bulls new players will consist of

Melo: Who frequently melts in playoff games and plays terrible defense
Boozer: Who players terrible defense and melts in playoff games when a larger defender is put on him.
Brewer: A shooting guard who can't shoot an outside jumper, and whose defense was beat out in Utah by a undrafted rookie.
Korver: A fantastic sorcerer who plays terrible defense.

The Bulls are forgetting that defense wins championships, and are going for an offensive only mindset.

Melo needs greatness around him to do well. He plays down to the level of his teammates. Exhibit A: Olympics

His motivation needs to be the possibility of not being option #1. With Derrick Rose and Boozer, he'll be the recipient of alot of kick outs off the pick and roll or a pick and pop. So he'll get to hang out onthe wing or in the short corner, where he likes to be. Also, I can see a double pick n roll with boozer setting a screen for rose, then to another screen for melo who'd have the option of a ucla cut or a curl.

Most blathering about NY is pure bullshiat. But he was born there, went to HS and college there. He's from there. You know, like Lebron is from south (little s) Florida.

The Nuggets would be stupid not to demand Noah in return.
