Not sure what definition of "racism" you subscribe to. Max security prisons with histories of racial violence make it a point to segregate inmates unless the inmates say they're OK with a cellmate of another race. It seems awful but it's better than finding out the hard way that some people don't want to get along

My definition is that inmates divide themselves by race and the northern and southern hispanics also divide and that's who you socialize with. I'm only going by what I've seen in Lockup marathons.
