There is an old saying: "never shait where you live". It can be interpreted many ways, but getting involved romantically/sexually with co-workers fits it like a glove. Doing it with a regular co-worker is bad enough, but getting involved with people you supervise is just insane, nothing good can come of it. The most unprofessional thing you can do, imo. Doesn't matter if you work at a Burger King or a fortune 500 company. Having been around the block more times than I care to admit, I've seen the damage first hand that kind of behavior can do, and more than once I had to clean up the mess after an office romance went tits up - it's not something I ever want to do again. Ruined careers, ruined relationships, divorce, moral in the workplace down the tubes, productivity at a stand still. It's not worth it.

But I guess sometimes you just have to learn that for yourself.

Meh, I'm dating one of the owners of the company I used to work for. His business partner fired me when we started dating. I now socialize with the guy and my former coworkers at all of their office functions. It's not that big a deal.
