Can we swap this out for the "sad" tag?

worse, because of our frug laws, my friend who needs Oxy to manage pain so she can sleep cant get it.
"because people sell this on the black market, you are too at risk for selling it and we watch everything the doctors do and they are at risk for losing their lisenses."

sigh, so she doesnt sleep instead and thinks about suicide because the pain spikes at 10 wake her up.

/sigh
/thanks stupid drug laws for killing my friend slowly
/believe me she has tried everything. dr at pain clinic says that her GP will prescribe, GP says the pain clinic wil prescribe. FFS

Looks like I picked a bad day to stop snorting oxycontin

What kind of father is this guy? I raised my 9 yo properly. He is always polite enough to offer to drive while I snort my drugs. Just terrible.

2010-09-07 12:50:07 PM
No child should have to witness their parents doing that. The dad is a grade A Palin-American.

I feel bad for that little kid, but good on him for calling 911.

2010-09-07 12:50:15 PM
Moralist nonsense. Does he really think a nine-year-old is going to discern that dear Daddy is rockin the contin and decide "that's illegal"?

"I really feel for this boy," said Wilcox. "Whether or not he knew his dad was snorting an illegal drug I don't know. He was just looking out for the best for his dad."

2010-09-07 12:50:39 PM
His dad was asleep, couldn't arouse him

Well, it would have been a whole new set of charges had he been able to arouse him I would think.

He should have gone with Ritterall.

Failure to Provide Assistance is a crime in Florida? WTF? Providing assistance opens you up to a civil suit if you negligently provide assistance, or even if you do everything right and the party is still hurt. You will be sued. Screw that.

God Damned Frug Laws. They should legalize all frugs.

What they don't tell you is the kid is 22 years old.

2010-09-07 12:54:45 PM
As long as the kid isn't being raised by queers, who cares what his dad does?

People should be allowed to raise and/or torture their children however they see fit.

Sounds like my dad, may he rest in peace. I never called 911 on my dad when he was driving drunk or on coke, but I probably should have. Instead, I just drove (or had my twin brother drive, since he was a better driver at that age than I was).

The point of the CSB is that yes, that sucks, and my heart goes out to that poor kid.

Does your friend live in an urban area? If she does she should consider finding a new doctor in the sticks where they are less paranoid. My mom's doctor practically jams oxy down her throat.

I'm not going to pass judgment like I'm above snorting oxy. But, doing it whilst at the wheel, with your kid in the car? Makes me rage a little.

That doesn't sound much better than being denied, healthwise.

Here it is-

New frontrunner for Father of the Year gets high on PCP and eats his son's eyes. To be fair, it did allow him to see through time before the Vatican could sell him out to the aliens (new window)

alas
she is in an urban area and handicapped from the pain
(cant walk, drive, passes out at random times)
so yah, one "plan" is moving somewhere else where she can get treatment.

hard to understand living in constant pain 6-8, with spikes at 10.
harder to understand doctors who are too paranoid to treat it.
FFS, your patient is DYING because she can not sleep.

Easy answer: Because people sell it on the black market, if your friend can't get it through legit channels perhaps the obvious solution is staring you in the face.

With a straw in its nose. And a little trickle of blood.
