Ah, Wilma Deering. You, Sabrina from "Charlie's Angels," and Joy the Bugaloo shall never lose that special place in my heart you have occupied these many years. Such moments we've shared.

"...Erin Gray has found a way to combine her celebrity with the very real business of fan-based conventions."

The inference here is kinda' snarky-funny.

Dragon*Con is known for being the most "fan-friendly" convention, which, in itself, can pose both unique opportunities and unique challenges . . . Luckily, Gray doesn't have those terrifying experiences anymore, but now she has clients who do.

Uh-oh. I was at Dragon*Con this weekend. I think this is an oblique reference to my "relationship" with Jewel Staite.

/Jewel I love you! Sorry about humping your leg.

I'm not sure if I should, but I really dig the fact CNN has been dedicating a fair amount of effort to report stuff about Dragon*Con.

Maybe not the heady fair one should expect from "the most trusted name in news", but it's kind of cool. Now if they would just fire their entire weekend and evening crews and give the airtime to Fareed Zakaria I'd really be happy.

A couple of years ago at Comic Con, my wife was more excited about seeing Erin Gray, who was in the background directing traffic, than Edward James Olmos and the other BSG people I wanted to see.

For some reason, whenever I have a convo about how hot Erin Gray still is, how hot Lynda Carter still is also gets brought into the convo (probably because they were the sci fi/fantasy hotness around the same era). Check out Ms. Carter's appearance in Super Troopers if a GIS does nothing for you.

I wouldn't mind seeing Erin Gray in more things these days.

I don't think that's right. But we're getting closer.

Jennifer? That's sounds wrong. I'm pretty sure it was Erin. Plus I know the Erin Gray from Dirty Dancing was a Jewesse, and "Jennifer" doesn't sound very Jewish to me. All I can remember is every girl in Junior High that year had her hair cut.

Pretty sure that was Dorian Gray. She had the successful acting career after WW2. Pretty impressive after that whole 'hiding in the attic from Nazis' for the duration of the war.

Though I will forever credit Erin Gray for giving me probably my first TV-induced wood as Wilma Deering, I have to say that she's become a world-class biatch. She was "handling" John Carpenter (directing traffic and yelling at people who took pictures from 30 feet away stuff like, "Hey! You've gotta pay for that!") at a very recent event that I attended. I'm telling you people, she's gone bonkers, and turned mean. She's got the rabies or something. Still pretty hot, though, but man, did she get mean.

No, you're all wrong. You're thinking about Earl Grey, the tea magnate, who had a sitcom on TV where he played a white trash guy with a list that would get him in all sorts of madcap adventures.

No

I saw Erin Gray at the Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Convention a few years ago. She was very cool. She was signing autographs, doing panels, etc. It's a small con, so when she was doing her panel, she looked around the room and said "I think I've already met most of you... except you," and she points right at me, "You haven't stopped by yet."

She might have just been hustling another autograph, but it felt cool to be singled out like that.

She's real into Tai Chi, and I guess her only major condition is that she wanted to do a Tai Chi workshop there. Naturally, I signed up for that, and my natural lack of coordination meant that she felt it necessary to correct my posture and stance frequently. She's still a very attractive woman, even absent the airbrushing in the pic in TFA.

But anyway, she was very friendly with everyone at the con, and a real pro in working with the people running it.

/CSB!
//Shameless plug: If you get a chance and you're near Maryland, check out MANC later this month. It's run by a good friend of mine, and it's a great time.
