"Mr Lane today insisted the weapons are fully licensed and only used for historical battle re-enactments."

I want to see the reenactments involving the rocket launcher.

StampedingElephant: I want to see the reenactments involving the rocket launcher.

If you're re-enacting pretty much any WW2 battles, the Jerries need their Nebelwerfers.

The Joes and Tommies need their bazookas, the Huns their Panzerschrecks. (PIAT doesn't count, as it's more of a shoulder mounted mortar.)

If you wanna get REALLY historical, set up with a Hwacha. A Congreve rocket doesn't actually need a launcher, more of a frame, but it does make a rather historical red glare.

Actually, you can keep all of that;

grenades and missiles are "Destructive Devices" if they have explosives in them and require the checks, license, background, sheriff signature, and tax stamp.

Rocket launchers and cannons, those are 'Any Other Weapon' and require the same, only the tax stamp is only $5 not $200.

If your missiles and grenades are inert, you can keep them without paperwork, but should probably keep them in a collection and out of the public eye.

This is simply a matter of having the proper paperwork, Mr. Tuttle.

...and having England leave the EU and petition to be the 51st state.

Or moving.

And wanting to put up with F-Troop of the BATFE.

Although if you could details the licensing procedure for keeping a re-enactment ready war surplus cannon in the UK, I am most interested.

Actually, you can own any size of muzzleloading cannon without having to notify the BATF or pay for any silly tax stamp. No paperwork required whatsoever.

Cannon are perfectly ok for home use. My neighbor has a couple of fully functional Parrot 3 inch rifles in his garage that he takes out to target shoots all the time.

Given that I live in Gettysburg, I'm glad to have him around in case those damn suth'erners get all invade-y again.

All of the items in the headline may be legally held in England, Scotland and Wales. The grenades and missiles need to have their charges removed, the rocket launcher deactivated and a deactivation certificate obtained. The cannon may be legally owned and fired.

Violent Crime Reduction Act restrictions (probably, it's written to apply to firearms) apply to any sale of the rocket launcher.

Although if you could details the licensing procedure for keeping a re-enactment ready war surplus cannon in the UK, I am most interested.

>2" bore, Section 1 FAC

Both allow live firing in a 'suitable place'. Usual restrictions on firearms security are typically waived (since the likelihood of anyone stealing your cannon and using it to raid a post office is...remote).

You can own one which you don't fire without any restriction.
