That's about the only way to make English cuisine more interesting.

2010-09-06 12:19:44 PM
I'd expect that on Look Around You, not BBC.

Vroom and board.

Once again, and for a brief while, life becomes tolerable.

Sure a Queen Anne table could do 100 mph. Get an American table, maybe an Ethan Allen out there and you'll see 200 mph and you'll be able to pass the gravy boat to the left.

Can I get that to go. Fast?

Yeah, even the puns aren't fun.

Moving on.

If a bunch of them got stuck at a red light, then they'd be waiting tables.

I am genuinely surprised this is not in some way related to Top Gear.

I'm watching the video, and from over my shoulder I hear "He's not even eating anything though, what's the point of that?"

2010-09-06 01:09:17 PM
No reason? NO REASON? It's only because Fark doesn't have "Guy Stuff" tag that you'd even THINK it needed a reason.

DesktopHippie: Although the driver does look like The Stig

Um, that's not the driver, it's a dummy...

I was going to chime in with a "look at the legs on that baby" but then I saw the video. Farking tablecloths - how do they work?

2010-09-06 01:15:35 PM
Maybe I'm missing something, but - why are they using miles per hour?

Anything is capable of 100 Mph, it's all a matter of direction and thrust.

RFC 1925 comes into play.

The other night I came home late, and tried to unlock my house with my car keys. I started the house up. So, I drove it around for a while. I was speeding, and a cop pulled me over. He asked where I lived. I said, "right here, officer". Later, I parked it on the freeway, got out, and yelled at all the cars, "Get out of my driveway!"

So does this come with a chair capable of doing 113MPH? Now THAT would be something to see.

The fact that it has turn signals, and is plated makes me hope that there is footage of these guys driving it around on city streets somewhere.

Reading more, I see that it's because they have Imperial Unit nostalgia. I had thought that they were officially SI, and I was right.

Tables, sofas, and beds are for amateurs. Barstools are what the pros race on.

mph is the official unit of speed. it's what speed limits are posted and enforced in.

The country is mainly metric but not for everything.

WelldeadLink: Fast food, baby.

Aarontology: Because that's some fast food.

Gents, I know you were aching to be the first to make a joke about fast food. But if you had listened to the video, you would have known that the very first sentence uttered by the reporter is: "We've all heard of fast food."

Reasons are for pussies.

We don't need no reasons. Going fast is worth it all by itself.

Same here. I think they need to have The Stig post a lap time with it.
