Take for example a story about someone being arrested for fighting back against a robber, the daily mail kind of omitted the fact that once the robber was incapacitated they proceeded to beat him half to death with metal bars.

Well, I don't know if you can get away with it in the U.K. - but here in the States, the very worst of our tabloid press routinely make up stories that never happened and publish them as truth.

My favourite was when Stephen Gately a singer with Boyzone died they tried to make it look like he had died some sordid lonely death due to being a homosexual. When in fact he just died of natural causes.

I'm beginning to think they would have better judges if they just picked them out at random from the phone book.
