Marijuana laws have always been about keeping the "undesirables" locked up. They are "excuse" laws. Whether it's about keeping black people out of your neighborhood or just some punks you don't like, it's a reason to hassle them. I'm not saying it's right, but it's the same reason RICO was created and why Capone was imprisoned for tax evasion.

Actually if you read the story, she's 26, he's 26. I think he was just trying to do something gallant to get laid.

I was house hunting a few years back and was viewing a lot of houses with my real estate agent. We checked out one older place then went outside to look at the back yard as the RE agent said it had beautiful gardens. It sure did. Every second plant was a beautifully maintained 6 or 7 footer; about 20 in all. I asked the RE agent if the house "comes with all this dope?". He was flabbergasted when I pointed them out. His first question was "are you sure?" I said "uhmmmm yes". Nobody previous has said anything. (I bought a nicer place.)

If they're smart (but they probably aren't) these guys could use the multiple confessions to their advantage. If the cases are tried separately, the defending lawyer should ask the question "Did anyone else confess to owning this plant?". Reasonable doubt. Case dismissed.

One time my brother tried to grow from seed in a planter...and was neglecting the plant...well, for shiats and giggles I took over...it bloomed at just under four feet-and then one of my brother's supposed friends-no telling which ones-absconded with it.
