When I was a kid I used to love reading the Guinness World Record book, but it's just sad now. Seems like a time drain for the stupid and unemployed.

I had to drive through that shiat four times yesterday going to and coming from a community football game for 10 year old kids. Was more PO'd about the fact that people are now charging $4 a head for entry into the community level football game to watch your own kid play. I played all kinds of sports for over 10 years growing up and not once was anyone required to pay to watch that until high school, when the money went to fund upkeep on the facilities. I'm really beginning to get on board with everyone else in the world who hates the stupidity rampant in America. If I had money I'd be trying to get the hell out.

The world-record thing is just free publicity for the festival. They sell the cooked butterbeans and other food items to fund a lot of local charities for the year. The more folks that come for the world record hoopla means more money for the local charities.
