I think that would make Americans a subspecies too. Just because we don't eat dogs doesn't mean we treat animals well.

You can't help but feel that the Chinese are a subspecies.

Actually I can, since I'm not an idiot.

What a twat. I used to like the Smiths for the guitar, but his whiney singing and lyrics eventually turned me right off of it.

"Meat is murder"... Whatever. You do know who else was a vegetarian and a racist, right?

RIGHT?

Saying they're a subspecies is a bit rough.

But they do treat animals like crap.

The big question is who gets to eat Morrissey?

I was thinking about this with regard to the Discovery hostage-taker: he only listed cute and/or useful animals as needing protection. That's the hypocrisy of animal-righters, they're generally selective about their convictions.

2010-09-04 03:58:24 PM
Ah, Morrissey is making racially and/or ethnically insensitive remarks to the press.
It must be a day ending with a "Y".

He smelled food at a concert he was giving and thought it might include meat, so he stomped off stage, never to return? Someone tell me that's a joke.

You know how Brian Eno has his deck of "Oblique Strategies" cards that he uses for inspiration? I have a feeling that Morrissey uses a similar deck of cards when he wants media attention.

Except there's only four cards: "say something racist", "say something fascist", "say something coy about your sexuality", and "crap on your former Smiths bandmates and say you'll never reunite".

Has he ever said that he was a man-gay homosexualler? It's pretty obvious, but he's never said it out loud and proud though, has he?

Dear Morrissey,

You know I love you. You are my favourite singer/songwriter of all time, and that isn't going to change. Your music got me through my awkward teenage years and it probably saved my life a couple of times. I will always be grateful for that.

So please don't take this too personally when I say, stfu, douchebag.

Love Rachel

hes always been a pretenious twat and I can honeslty say that he is one of the few people I would happy set on fire if I ever met him....and then still want to punch him in his annoying whining face... then piss on him and put the flames out..... then set him on fire again.... then stamp the flames out with a jackhammer!

Morrisey, seriously, DIAF already!

So I gotta ask, but... what would be the POINT of skinning an animal alive?

Surely it's easier and far less messy to kill it (even if by horrible manner) before the skinning? It would still be very fresh, if that's the point. Lobsters and all that are confined to the pot, the cook doesn't need to actually fight them in there or peel them.

Calling shenanigans.

Finally, Morrissey has decided to end the decades of speculation for once and for all, and has come out of the closet as a full racist.

"Absolutely horrific. You can't help but feel that the Chinese are a subspecies."

Actually, I can. Funny how that works.

On a related note, I believe the Chinese for "wanker" is 手淫, (shǒu yín.)
It translates as "hand/convenient" + "excessive/obscene".

So not condemning the use of meat as food is being evil, but condemning an entire race as being less than human is perfectly fine and normal.

Am I the only one that thinks the only way Morrissey will learn anything is by first getting the shiat kicked out of him before each lesson?

Uh, they have been to thailand, cambodia, laos, indonesia, singapore, hong kong, china, north korea (briefly), south korea, japan, india, and the UAE. They're used to people not speaking english.

He probably doesn't look his best because they're essentially backpacking across the world, and after several months of no shaving or hair cuts and washing their clothes with a bar of soap in the sink, you wouldn't look your best either.

It's an adventure, man.

And they're very very cool with other people not speaking english. They just aren't cool with people treating each other and animals badly. They've been very respectful of all the cultures they've been in contact with, and always stay away from "Western" areas - staying in hostels and eating at street vendors, etc.

He has had lots of great stuff to say about how awesome South Korea and how nice people are there - like genuinely proud of their culture and of their country, and wanting to share it with people.

In China, people just poop on the streets, pee on the sidewalk, feed junkfood to animals at the zoo, take covert pictures of Westerners and look guilty about it, and generally act like 6 year olds.

I was at the Coachella show. He made a pissy ass of himself. He gagged dramatically and looked like an idiot for most of the performance, ranting about burning animal flesh (yummy, delicious animal flesh). But did finish the show. I felt bad for his band- they were nailing it. How Soon Is Now was inspired as a closer when after all Morrissey's bellyaching it could easily have fallen flat.

And plants can sense damage when you cut them. They probably suffer. Maybe "burning animal flesh" PETA-type people should just stop eating altogether.

Not shenanigans.

The Chinese have a habit of skinning animals alive. You can find videos of it online.

The dog soup that's made for medicinal purposes is quite nasty. The dogs are beaten and boiled alive. The more fear and activity produced, the better. They believe this increases the yang energy of the meat, ensuring that the resulting magical broth will be a good tonic to increase your energy, particularly for old men.
