It's the NFL. The authorities should just be content that nobody was raped, shot, stabbed or raped.

And if DWI wasn't dangerous enough, he was driving a Toyota.

Kurmudgeon: And if DWI wasn't dangerous enough, he was driving a Toyota.

He should've told them that the accelerator stuck, the brakes didn't work and he couldn't turn off the engine. It's worked before.

I had a LONG NFL career (really). After three weeks they sent me home and I was disappointed but HAPPY to get out of St, Josephs College before Dan Hampton killed me. So.. I sucked.. But loved it...

.10

.10

Are you farking kidding me?!?!

Comment FTFA:
Officer: "did you have anything to drink tonight?"
Colts Player: "Shouldn't I ask this question?"

As an Indy local, I find this Oh-Snap worthy. Farking IMPD officer can kill two people while driving drunk and get off because his colleagues conveniently screwed up everything in his booking.

.10 is nothing for a guy of normal size let alone this guy. Eyes were glassy and red? Yeah, methinks that alcohol might not be the issue here.

He should have learned from Tavaris Jackson's example and had some sort of incriminating evidence on his coach.

.10 used to BE the legal limit. Farking rabid coonts over at MADD lobbied for years to get it lowered. The guy wasn't hurting anyone. If it had been like .20, then I'd be concerned.

From TFA:

In a police report, officer William Weber said Moala admitted to having "five or six drinks'' at Club 6 and the officer said Moala's eyes "were glassy and bloodshot.'

Not sure how much time between his drinks, but IIRC 5-6 over a few hours will give you more than .10. Maybe the cops reported .10 but it was higher.

5-6 watered down drinks for an NFL size athlete is not that much especially over a time period that ends at closing time. I'm with the Negro Community on this one.

When originally asked to determine a specific BAC to give an idea when someone was too intoxicated to drive safely, the AMA defined it at .15

But of course, a temperance movement can't have that now can they? So it was lobbied to be pushed to .10, now it's .08 or less (you can still be charged in many places).

DUIs are the child porn of the temperance movement. It short circuits the normal rational discussion of lawmaking.

I was arrested once for being an underage designated driver (yeah, gotta love alcohol laws). As a result of me NOT drinking near other underage people and having a collection of their car keys, I was ordered to partake in an alcohol abuse class.

In that class, I learned that I could drink 4 drinks and be below the legal limit, and this was when I was 170 lbs.

According to ESPN. Fili Moala is 303 lbs. 6 beers would put him at 0.064 IF he drank them in a single hour. Lets say he was out for 3 hours and had 10 drinks. 10 drinks over 3 hours would put him at 0.083

So, no 5-6 drinks over several hours wouldn't put him anywhere NEAR .10

You lose a drink an hour. Your body metabolizes the alcohol at approximately that rate.

Lets say he DID have 6 drinks over 3 hours. At 303 lbs, that would put his BAC at: 0.03

And for followup:

303 lbs means that if he took SIX shots the instant before his BAC was measured (assuming the alcohol immediately entered his bloodstream.

His BAC would only be .08

Someone's size is a HUGE factor in being able to consume alcohol.

IIRC Andre the Giant was reported to drink 2 LITERS of vodka before he said he felt a buzz. (Of course he was also an alcoholic which further influences your tolerance for alcohol) but given his size, he could probably drink beer constantly and never approach the legal limit.
