I've enjoyed most of their mini-series type events.

Besides, it's Peter Pan. Other then maybe the first Disney one and Hook, have there been any decent ones?

"Hook" was not decent. I think even Robin Williams regrets that and he did "Jack."

I'd be remiss in my duties if I didn't praise the heartrending artistry and brilliant technical vision inherent in Lake Placid III.

When everything is said and done, Michael Ironside's performance will stand as one for the ages.

It was cheesy, but enjoyable.

I have to agree there. Although John Williams' score was of course kick ass.

Oh boy. Another dark and gritty 're-imagining' of a classic childrens story.

Do Not Want.

That was one of the worst farking things I've ever seen. I was merely indifferent to Zooey Deschanel before that movie, even thought she was cute. But after watching her wander around for 8 hours "acting", slack-jawed and with her mouth hanging open as if to gather flies, I can no longer stand her.

Oh, and monkeys flew out of someone's tits...

At least the actor playing Hook is wirey.

Who keeps letting that dips**t network keep making movies? Have they ever seen a return on their investment from ANY of Syfy's "original" movies?

Just stack it with hotties and I'm OK with it:

The Flying Boob Monkeystm were about the only good thing out of Tin Man.

Also, now that I've thought it up, I call Flying Boob Monkeys as an Alternate Fark Handle and/or a band name.

I did early on, the Dune and Children of Dune adaptions were decently well done (have both on DVD). Of course it seems that any miniseries past that has royally sucked (except for BSG).

When does the Season 1.5 of Caprica start again? It seems like forever since 1.0 finished.

Dude it's "SyFy" (cringe every time I see that). Did you people not watch the "Sharktopus" movie a few days ago?

I'm still in mourning over what those assholes did to Riverworld - twice.

I agree - if the whole show had been at that level of a deranged awfulness it would have been one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen.

Why dose SyFy hate their audience?

Oobleck: i really enjoyed the 2003 version (new window)

Very underrated, and more faithful adaptation, and it bombed at the box office. But I'm not surprised. It was deliberately un-Disneyfied, and had stuff going on at multiple levels (restoring Barrie's undercurrents of puberty and awakening sexuality vs. staying a child forever), and I think it made people (esp. parents) uncomfortable, even though it was ultimately still 100% a kids' movie.

Here's what happened to Wendy from that movie. I for one, and damn glad she did grow up.

I had to look that up, I thought, "No way." Then I realized with a bit of a shock that she's a couple of months older than the girl I'm currently dating! Makes me feel like a dirty old man with Peter Pan Syndrome! Which isn't too far from the truth...

As awful as some of their productions of been (Mansquito), their mini series have generally been very good.

The Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland redos were both very nice.

Have you watched it lately?

It doesn't age well.

And it has Julie Roberts in it.

I rented that just to see the feral mermaids. It's *very* rare to see the true creepy malice the faerie had in old legends.

The unauthorized Peter Pan prequels written by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson were entertaining and would probably make good films. There are three books so far, but I've only read the first two. Movie versions could be as well-done as Harry Potter, or as bad as The Golden Compass. Of course, if SyFy were to do it, it would be shiat.
