Where does he specifically call out Favre's attention whoring? Looks like he just whined that he doesn't return his phone calls as much anymore.

Apparently, there is no God. Either that, or he has Terry on "ignore" now that he isn't in a position to win Super Bowls for anyone.

Is Little Brett coming out of retirement again?

I read an interview with Bradshaw where he said, at various times:
1. I hated playing football, when I walked away I didn't shed a tear.
2. You have to remember football was my life, I miss being in the locker room before a game with all my teammates.
3. Pittsburgh fans hated me. Callers to the radio show kept saying how they wanted Gillam, or Stoudt, or Malone to play because I was too stupid.
4. What do I miss about Pittsburgh? The fans. Come hell or high water they always expressed unconditional love.
5. After Hollywood Henderson said I couldn't spell CAT after being spotted the C and the A, none of my teammates came to defend me.
To the last point Jack Ham said Bradshaw was full of shiat and likes to play the 'woe is me' card.
I think he has some serious persecution issues.

I thought the same thing but now I see there's some stuff about Favre if you click the text "only entitled athlete Bradshaw took aim at."

Copying and pasing:

Bradshaw admires longtime quarterback Brett Favre for his accomplishment's on the field. "He's a great player - never seen anything like it," he said. However, Bradshaw is appalled at the drama Favre has caused with retirement threats over the past two or three years.

"I don't know who that guy is," Bradshaw said. "You kiss his ass long enough, that's what happens."

Kinda sad when the best highlight you can come up with for the past 40+ seasons of Browns futility is sacking a QB. Hell, the Lions will probably win a Super Bowl before the Browns do.

Well, the Browns pretty consistently suck, so there aren't a huge amount of highlights. However, this one became memorable just for Bradshaw getting a piledriver into the ground and ending up concussed.

Eh, Bradshaw isn't terribly bright and acts persecuted at times, but I can appreciate how he's honest about his depression, etc.

And the laugh-happy sports team on Fox gets on my nerves something fierce.

You know, there's something inherently hypocritical about the media criticizing the mass Favre-hysteria that they themselves created and continue to perpetuate.

If sports casters are sick of hearing about Favre, I have an idea. Stop farking talking about Favre every single day.

Maybe break one story when an actual decision is made. Instead of 273,831 stories full of speculation, we could have had about 15 stories when actual facts became available. I'm sure both Favre and the millions of sports fans would have appreciated that.

I find he sounds much funnier and less stupid when he's not on FOX.
I don't know about JJ or Howie Long, but I bet FOX forces them to dumb it down.

HOly crap...not only was that very late and completely unnecessary, but he decided to pick up the ball and run after a flag was thrown.

man, in today's game that'd amount to a suspension for sure.

2010-09-03 03:03:52 PM
Former Steelers great Terry Bradshaw doesn't think that a few months of good behavior should help Ben Roethlisberger get off the hook of a six-game suspension.

Too Late (new window)

Bradshaw only has 4. Which is still 4 more than the Browns. ALL OF THE BROWNS.

S***, even Trent F***ing Dilfer has more. And don't go giving me the noise that those were the "true" Browns.

Shoosh...I'm still convinced he honestly didn't know he was coming back until he decided to come back. He openly skipped camps while he was with the Packers, even pre-retirement talk. I don't think it had anything to do with that at all...

Who cares what Terry Bradshaw has to say? If he had played for any other team besides the Steelers, he'd be running a used-car lot or living under an overpass or something.

Although it's funny that even the connection to STEELER NATION couldn't keep that dope Jerome Bettis on TV.

So Ben's suspension was cut to 4 games.

You know, when I was a kid and I got in trouble, my father would mete out a punishment. If I so much as acted like it was unjust, let alone if I actually had the balls to ask for lenience, he would double it. Not reduce it, double it. The point of a punishment is only half to teach a lesson. The other half is punative...it is the punishment which does the teaching of the lesson. Let a guy off easy and pull back on the punishment and you pull back on teaching the lesson. My dad knew that if I was asking for lenience it was because the punishment was working, and he wanted to make sure to capitalize on that by making it a bigger dose.

What Goodell has done here is twofold. First, he is saying that BR doesn't really need to learn any lesson...that he did nothing wrong. Second, he is making himself look like a wishy-washy ass, and by extension making the NFL look like it doesn't really care about holding its employees to any sort of standard of conduct. When the Justice department comes to call again, this decision will be referred to and held up as precedent in this regard, I promise you.

Fark the NFL anyway, for allowing a physical sport to degenerate into what can only be described as sterilized choreography, only one step above professional wrestling.

Meh, past is the past. I'm not even going to get into the original Browns with Graham and Brown, it's irrelevant. I'm concerned with the 2010 season now.

It was a different time. Back then, you could still deliver a forearm to the throat of a runner and not worry about getting thrown out of the league.

That would make sense. But instead, they all just whine about how it's our fault and their ratings go up whenever they talk about Farve/Yankees/LeBron, so that's what they're going to talk about.

How can you possibly say this as the evidence continues to pile up about the devastating effect even short NFL careers can have on a player's body and brain?

I think his point was if he didn't play for a such a dominant team across the board like the Steelers in that era, he certainly doesn't win 4 Super Bowls in six years.

Dear Terry Bradshaw:

This side of Joe Namath and Joe Theismann, you are the most overrated quarterback in the history of the NFL. You were luckier than Troy Aikman, in that you had more HOF talent surrounding you than anyone in history.

Killer Cars: I think his point was if he didn't play for a such a dominant team across the board like the Steelers in that era, he certainly doesn't win 4 Super Bowls in six years.

And that would be a fair point. Bradshaw is no Joe Namath when it comes to being lionized beyond his skill level... but he's not one of the best of all time. As a huge steeler fan I have no problem saying that. Same goes for Lynn Swann - who made some truly iconic catches - but otherwise his numbers aren't hall-worthy. I think Terry is hall-worthy, by virtue of his championships - those aren't nothing - but his numers ain't all that great.

qsblues: Mike Webster was the only center who won 4 SB's in 6 years, and he dies sleeping under a bridge, broke and homeless.

Mike wasn't the most charismatic guy. Great center but you don't want him on tv. He's the poster child for why long-time ex NFL'ers should have the best health insurance money can buy for life. Too much money in the game and too many instances of these guys ending up crippled and crazy.
