My high school counselor was a carillonneur. I used to go hear him play Bach on the Yale carillon. A live carillon concert is an amazing experience, as the bells have these complex harmonics that do not come through in recordings. If you get a chance to hear a concert, go. I don't know about Lady Gaga though.

Ever been to Ames or ISU? You can understand why they find this kind of thing exciting. It's where boredom lost the will to live.

I'd much rather hear Bach than Lady Gaga "music". I can imagine that Yale concert was amazing.

Our Campanile is bigger than your Campanile:

The Campanile and carillon at Iowa State University (110 ft (33.5 m); 50 bells).

Sather Tower, "The Campanile" and carillon of the University of California, Berkeley, is 307 ft (93.6 m) tall and has 61 bells. It was the subject of The Campanile Movie.

It could have been Crash Test Dummies' version. You know:

Once there was this kid who
Got into an accident and couldn't come to school
But when he finally came back
His hair had turned from black into bright white
He said that it was from when
The cars had smashed so hard

I don't know how things work in Iowa, but here in California the U.C. schools have much more financial aid available to students with higher income levels than the state schools. While the tuition may be higher at the UC's, the out-of-pocket amount is actually much, much lower than the state schools. Of my $5,500 or so tuition this semester, I'm paying $400. That's for someone that made about 15% more than the median income for my state last year.
