As for homeopathy, a homeopathic HIV vaccine would be giving someone a dilute solution of the virus, at normal strength. The weakened/killed part is crucial here, and homeopathy doesn't do that.

Then a person ingests this magic water on a like for like basis of their symptoms and is magically cured.

It is utter bollocks of course as study after study have conclusively demonstrated. It's a textbook case of placebo medicine practiced by quacks and woo woos.

That is where you are wrong. Homeopaths seek to have the least possible amount of the substance. In one case there was a homeopathic "cure" made in Britain that relied on, I believe, duck liver. Putting aside the fact that it is unlikely duck liver makes any sense in a "like cures like" scenario, unless you are plagued with spontaneous growth of the internal organs of water fowl, the quantity they required was so minute that, each year, they required only one duck. They have been reaching dilution levels so high that researchers cannot find any trace of the key ingredients in tested samples.
