They weren't SMOKING it on he job. Just possessing it. They are idiot for buying weed in an ambulance..knowing it has a GPS tracker on it, but they arent completely crazy. Though im not sure im comfortable with that level of idiocy coming to my recue...

and, of course, the squirrels.

Two things:

First, I hate how everybody feels obliged to act like it's a really big deal. Public apologies, hoping it doesn't "reflect badly" on the rest of the squad, etc. Two bored young adults scored some weed while having nothing better to do, big farking deal...the only person who should be pissed is the dealer, because two morons drove to his place in such a conspicuous vehicle!

Second-I realize it's a volunteer service, but who the hell puts a 19-year-old and a 23-year-old in charge of an ambulance, unsupervised on night shifts, without expecting some hijinks??? I'm surprised they weren't running a sales and delivery operation themselves...

Is the Google map point there to show us where we van buy weed?

/and what's with the damn squirrel thing? It's driving me nutty....

"You're fired!"

"But I am a volunteer."

"You're fired from volunteering."

Grew up in North Plainfield. Could walk to Clinton and Front in about 10 minutes from my house now. It would be a scary walk. I go west instead of east to walk my dogs. CSB and out.

Well done retards. What we need are fewer people willing to extract infants burned by toppled deep fryers in crack houses. Especially if the rescuers do it for free, and smoke weed.

I'm not sure I like the idea of ambulances being allowed in service with glaucoma. Don't they have some kind of screening procedure to ensure ambulances have better vision?

As a volunteer EMT (in addition to having a paid EMS job), I have to say that this is a good case for abolishing volunteer EMS. This is disgraceful.

Nothing compared to what Indianapolis cops have been up to in the last few weeks. Amateurs.

I used to live East of Plainfield, right across the border. I am grateful for whatever invisible fence was protecting me.

Really...I think I need to subscribe to your newsletter. On behalf of the thousands of volunteer EMT's in this country please STFU !

The two volunteer rescue squad members, Yanis Laureano, 23, and Dennis Lopes, 19, both of Plainfield, were charged with possessing less than 50 grams of marijuana, Hellwig said

I came here to comment on this, but I see Canned Tamales has already addressed the issue. These guys still have pimples on their faces and they were in charge of getting you to a hospital fast in an emergency and giving medical attention in the process?

Eh, my roommate is taking the courses to be an EMT. She's a total dumbass yet she's passing all of the classes at one of the better colleges here. Maybe the profession needs a higher standard?
