All he needs is six of us for his six month tour. Hell, if he's lucky, he may be a TFer until he's 90.

/ok subby. You're green. Who are you?

He's not really the internet forum type. Bit busy and whatnot. But 2012/13 is still a ways away yet, and perhaps I can show him that it is a good way to create a bit of interest.

I did have him start a twitter account today to raise his profile. Unlike his last two missions, this one has a bit more of a media blitz to it, and I thought it might be best that people get to hear what he says. (Much like why I made him this Fark thread.) Men like him, doing jobs like he does, deserve more recognition than they get. For those who actually care to hear of his goings on, they are going to be posted here.

Hero tag unavilable for comment? My father never did anything quite that cool, and he was still my hero. Miss you Dad!

Fair enough. It would really be good if he FARKED and could do it from space. There would be so much coverage Drew and crew may literally be passed out over the server.

Just show him the link between Bad Astronomer and his blog, as well as the genuine interest and encouragement we have in his future endeavors. It may behoove him to gain more exposure. We like when inside sources can dump some knowledge on us.

As a fellow canadian who wishes he could go to space, I would sponsor Mr Hadfields account for a full year if you can get him to submit from space!

ultraholland: It may behoove him to gain more exposure. We like when inside sources can dump some knowledge on us.

I sent him the link to the page, and I'm sure he'll look it over when he has a break. Today has been a very busy day for him, what with the press conferences and all. If you have an earnest question about the space program, it is his passion, and I'd be happy to filter an answer back to you as I get it.

Of course. But it isn't the first I've heard of it, nor the first time he's gone into space. Don't get me wrong -- I am extremely proud of him for this and everything else he's accomplished, but keep in mind that I grew up with it. To me, it is just dad being dad.

Sidenote: Thank you to he or she that just did what he did. I think you'll find I'm far less interesting than you hope for, though. :)
