Didn't Shia lose a finger in a similar accident? Maybe working with Michael Bay is bad for your health and not just your career.

Those transformers are big. It was only a matter of time before someone got hurt.

It's the curse of Scatman Crothers, who haunts the sets and causes debilitating accidents to happen. The spirit of Chris Latta helps him out, but he usually bungles at every turn.

He was drunk driving, but hey, you know, chalk it up to working with Bay. You'd have to be drunk to sign on a deal with him, unless they were handing you dump trucks o' cash, in which case you'd go out and get drunk as soon as the ink was dry.

We could only be so lucky but, if it was him, maybe they airlifted to the hospital in 26 minutes.

Ahhh Hammond, Indiana. The only place I know where they close down a major highway because the bridge is too rusted... and hope to fix it sometime in the next 3 years.

Ha! I didn't even finish the sentence I quoted.

Seriously though, Bay movies make a lot of money. I'd sign on with him in a second.

Before they closed that road (Cline Ave) that was a really cool drive to take. You were elevated on a crumbling, rusted highway between abandoned steel mills with nobody else on the road. It had a cool post-apocalyptic thing going on.

Perfect for Transformers 3.

It's a common misconception to think that people say art sucks because it is popular. In reality, it's the opposite. Art is usually popular because it sucks.

I rather enjoy the Transformers movies for what they are and try to be.

Action with awesome special effects.. and some hot girls with a smattering of comedy. Yeah, I'm absolutely fine with that.

She had to have a critical head injury to be in the movie to begin with.

farscape: Oh, low blow.

Nope, it was about neck level.

And has anyone written a version of this story that makes sense yet? All I've seen (in about three different places, mind you) is that a stunt went awry, an extra was injured, and so was the driver of the picture car, who wasn't the extra, even though she owned the car.

*reads article again*

Okay, they've updated it. Now can someone explain to me what an "extra" was doing driving a car in a shot near stunts and/or pyro? Who in the screaming shiat was running that set?

2010-09-02 08:56:08 PM
Extras can be paid more for bringing their vehicle to be used in traffic scenes and exteriors. What happened here was a stunt cable snapped and cut through her car then her head.

No one should have to loose their life for a Mike Bay movie.

Except the comedy in Transformers wasn't even all that funny. A robot humping Megan Fox's leg? Childish. That one chick being sprayed with fluids? Also childish. All the jokes were obvious and childish.

well, if she dies because of the injury, they'll probably dedicate the movie to her. that would be nice of them.

You know, I'll always prefer the classic looking Autobots with humanoid faces, but the scary-ass Decepticons have grown on me since the first movie came out.
