Has anyone raised the question why the Detroit mayor needs a security detail? With all the economic hardship, budget cuts, layoffs, etc., why does he need a security detail? Shouldn't those officers be redirected to a street beat so perhaps they can stop individuals from stealing tires off everyones cars.

If he had fixed any problems, he couldn't keep saying that things were terrible and more money is needed. The funding would have dried up if things got better.

Given that it's the Detroit city government, I'd be very amazed if they were running sensible wheels and tires.

This has been going on way longer than Obama. The current mayor isn't really one of the thug gangstas that Detroit had previously, so he lost his street cred.
