Wow. You can just feel the stank of an unwashed adenoidal hipster
in ever word on the page of this article, can't you?

Oh, but she's so talented. And original. And unique. And she's just an amazing artist.

compared to other people on the radio right now... katy perry, kesha, etc... she is exactly all of those things.

Yes, she is the most talented of the trashy pop guys.

And it still sounds exactly like Don't Turn Around.

Ack! That was totally a typo! There was someone in my office talking to me and I didn't proofread. I meant to say girls.

I do agree that "Alejandro" is a step back after "Bad Romance." I wouldn't say either song has substance, but "Bad Romance" was much more interesting.

"Cribbed beats" sounds like something my mom serves at Thanksgiving.

It's pop music - that's the point. What the hell were you expecting?

2010-09-01 03:34:56 PM
I don't think Lady Gaga is under any illusions about what she's putting out there.

2010-09-01 03:51:33 PM
And what was "Louie Louie", hipperthanthoumitter?

It's catchy. It doesn't necessarily make you want to put a brick through the speaker. Eventually you get sick of it, and then it comes back on in five years and you "oh wow". The end.

Not everything has to be revelatory or seminal or whatever wanker-rock-critic word is au courant this week.

Not in the slightest^

You're all missing the avant garde brilliance of this song. You see, Lady Gaga much like her forbears in the Fluxus movement is creating nothing out of something. Sure it sounds like garbage to the untrained ear, but that's just because you're not enjoying it on as many levels as I am.

Also, she's WAAAAY better than Richard Marx.

i'm still waiting for her song Sticky Fingers to be released.

i've heard good things about it. supposed to be over 6 minutes long and involve alot of orchastration.

Were those cribbed beats made by.... a golfball dimpler?

No mention of RedOne? Does the writer of the article actually think Lady Gaga is dropping the beats in her songs?

2010-09-01 05:50:51 PM
As long as it makes people dance

2010-09-01 06:01:10 PM
I for one would love to hear a Lady Gaga record produced by Trent Reznor instead of by RedOne. I just think it would be way more interesting, and perhaps we'd get a beat other than straight four on the floor?

Well she's either paying a homage to Madonna or she's out of ideas and is ripping off Madonna.

Either way, I do not want to hear this again.

So? It's like the weakest track on the album. There's always one dud. It's her "She's Leaving Home." It's her "Sweet Lady." It's her "Four Sticks." It's her "Ignoreland!"

Tee hee.

And more talented and unique than any band that gets their cawk collectivley sucked by Pitchfork or is listened to by a large segment of the Williamsburg population.

If only she had a four piece band and sounded like one of he thousdands upon thousdans of bands trying to recreate what the Stooges already did 35 years ago .... then she would be "fresh" and "unique" and "talented", unlike this recycled pop stuff.

If you're going to write a long-form hit piece about Alejandro, you should at least mention La Isla Bonita.

Otherwise, you're just showing your musical ignorance.

And ABBA. Sounds like it was co-written by Benny and Bjorn.

The first time I heard it I thought it was Madonna. I guess what Nietzsche said about fighting monsters was right.

fark lady gaga. fark all this recycled, shallow and empty music called "pop".

what ever happened to real music?

Pretty much every Lady Gaga song, video, or outfit could be described the exact same way. Sometimes the creativity is in the choices of what to put in the mix, and maybe that's the case with her. But she's not some unique one-of-a-kind genius, nor is she introducing anything new or interesting to pop music.

/kind of catchy though

I no longer have any sympathy for those who don't know what happened to real music. Whether you realize it or not, real music is being made everyday. Turn off your radio and go find it. Let the teenyboppers have their pop.
