$94 million, $94 billion, whatever. What's three orders of magnitude between friends, huh subby?

Funny - I remember in the first few days the British dude saying, "This is not a problem that will be solved by public relations."

Remember that every time I see one of their ads.

I know that's a joke, but in all seriousness, our seafood is fine. It's coming up clean in all testing. Please buy Louisiana shrimp and stop buying those pathetic little farm-raised things from Asia that taste like iodine. Our local economy has taken it in the rear for the past year and our seafood industry needs to get back on it's feet. Thank you.

Just think if this happened near the time of the Super Bowl. 94 million would be like 5 whole commercials. I'll call it now, we'll see a couple.

Because it was caught before the oil spill, and was frozen until you came in and ordered "Scully's Catch O' the day!"...

Yeah, I wonder if they realize that the ads just make people even ANGRIER.

"This is BP. Sorry we killed a bunch of people and screwed up the Gulf Coast through criminal negligence, and tried to cover it up as best we could until we couldn't any longer. But we're fixing it now. Sort of. God Bless America."

BP will spend more on advertising and trying to restore consumer relations than they will on the spill itself. Nothing new here.

I can't believe people are still dumping on BP. Name one oil company that's spent more on improving the environment these past few months.

All of the BP gas stations in and around Montgomery, AL have been re-branded as Liberty Gas stations.

Anyone else notice this in their cities?

BP told the committee that they have increased advertising expenditures for a number of reasons, including to keep Gulf Coast residents informed of issues relating to the oil spill and recovery and to ensure transparency during the recovery process...

Why don't they just come out and say "we spilled a bunch of oil in the Gulf, and we need to kiss people's ass to forgive us". We'd all buy it, we all know it's the truth. They really think we're that stupid...

2010-09-01 04:39:24 PM
Jebus, smitty. There's a lot of awful things that BP has done, and it is truly a reprehensible company, but you don't have to make shiat up.

And that was a few orders of magnitude of made up shiat.

$94 Billion on advertising, lol, this isn't a U.S. Presidential Race, subby.

There was a really unique BP station at Olympic and La Cienega (I think?) in West Los Angeles. It has been rebranded an Arco station (with a very very tiny BP logo in the corner)

Station in question:
