Fire-nados are a great but "chaotic" weapon against zombies. It does plenty of damage, but is not easily controlled. It should only be used as a last ditch effort, or in a scenario where you do not plan on salvaging the area afterward.

Remember, fire is your friend and your enemy during the zombie apocalypse.

And here we see the elusive firenado in its natural habitat. They were once believed to have been hunted into extinction by the Zippo company. In recent years, lucky outdoorsmen are more often treated with rare glimpses of this once elusive critter.

These are way more common than people think, I believe most significant wildfires cause them, they're called fire whirls. Dresden and other firebombing targets also experienced firestorms and probably fire whirls.

2010-08-30 05:25:24 PM
Wildfires cause firestorms anyway, and firestorms can produce fire whirls.

If you're into that kinda thing, sure.

Personally, I'd rather have my doublewide torn up by a Vagnado, or Boobnado.

Tornados + fire = "how is that not terrifying"

I've lived in the Midwest my entire life, so tornadoes don't freak me out. Fires don't freak me out either as all young boys are inevitably pyros to some degree. However I find the possibility of a whirling dervish of inferno rather unnerving. I realize this fire tornado isn't very hardcore, and I doubt it is actually possible. When I visualize a fire tornado, I imagine something out of Twister that is hurling a cow around while simultaneously cooking it.

/actually that sounds pretty sweet

So if a cow gets hit with a fire tornado, does it spit out well done burgers?

That does sound awesome. Maybe I should write up a script and push it out to someone in Hollywood ASAP. That'll be better than most of the crap they're putting out anyhow, and the bigwigs will be all over the 3D aspect of it.

-shrug-

IMHO, it's a tornado that's touched down in a fire. If you're going to get hit by the funnel, you're already crispied by the wildfire that's feeding it. Am I missing something?

/ as I'm not a firefighter, YMMV.

Yeah, the part where it isn't about opinion, it is about physics. A tornado didn't touch down in the fire. The fire's effect on the air currents created the vortex.

Totally go for 4D on this one. In the cow meets firenado scene, launch hamburgers into the audience. The vegans will LOVE it.
