Cats attacking helicopters, the most dangerous of the thrown pies, and a question about the Beaver's hair: Fark's favorite Headlines of the Week for 8/15 - 8/21 Posted by Drew at 2010-08-24 2:23:20 PM (20 comments) | Permalink
At this point, I'd recommend bringing it up with Drew. The reason parody threads got called out as submission queue abuse in the first place was a minor version of what TFD is suffering right now

Is Drew around right now? Does he know we're suffering?
In the midst of this queue-abuse, I posted a thread about buying some new RAM and it got pulled without explanation. So I will ask here:
My mom's PC needs more RAM. It has 2x512MB dual channel DDR2 memory. What's the best upgrade path? 1. An additional 2x512MB 2. 2x1GB replacing the old 3. 2x1GB adding to the old 4. 1x1GB adding to the old
I was going to do the latter, but wasn't sure its impact on the dual channel aspect. She doesn't need the blazing performance but I don't want it to get worse by adding more RAM.

Is a new PC out of the question? They are dirt cheap nowadays.

More RAM is always better up to a point(which you are nowhere near. If you have the slots, I'd add 2x1GB (unless that will screw something up).
