Also, "heliocentrism" is the astronomical fact, not the dumb belief. You meant "geocentrism", dummy.

I've known one girl who believed it. I mocked her until she never mentioned it around me again. She voted for Buss twice and then McCain.

So the only witchy women I've known was a right winger.

Do a google search for magick practitioners, shamans, and witches. There's plenty of people out there who advertise their magical powers and abilities to cast spells. Ditto for palm readers, psychics, and so on. Just visit your local "occult" bookstore and look around.

I heard "free tacos."

Did somebody say something about free tacos? Because I really could go for a free taco.

2010-08-24 02:39:07 PM
Do you think people are dumber than they used to be?

I don't. It's just that we can easily identify the dumb ones in an increasingly complex world.

Well if you believe in god what is so weird about wizards and witches?

2010-08-24 02:40:50 PM
I hate both the geocentric AND the heliocentric view of the solar system. It totally depends upon the position you're occupying in space when you make the observation. Didn't we clear this up back in the '30s? Shame on you, Newsweek, for being stupid and continuing to promote stupidity.

That's a cop out.

Right wingers are more ignorant than the general population.

They long for the derp.

To be honest, I would have to think twice before answering a random stranger on the street who came up to me and asked if I thought Obama was a Muslim or not.

My answer would depend largely on third-party information, including the dress and demeanor of the person asking, proximity to tea party rallies, or the known presence of firearms in the asker's control.

Sometimes it's easier to just lie and be left alone.

Heliocentrism (that the sun is the center of the universe) is not correct either. Our sun orbits our galactic center, and the galaxy itself is one of billions with no defined center to the grouping.

/newsweek still meant "geocentrism"

FTA: Lost? Don't ask an American. Sixty-three percent of young Americans can't find Iraq on a map.

I currently believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because some people out there in our nation that don't HAVE maps and uhh, I believe that our education such as in South Africa and the Iraq everywhere like such as and I believe that they should uh, our education over HERE in the U.S. should help the U.S. or should help South Africa or should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we would be able to build up our future for our children.

I have admired you from afar for awhilst now Jay, come to San Diego and I will buy you all of the most kickass tacos you have ever tried. So they will be free for you.

/MMMM free tacos

The gist of TFA:

1) Obama is a Muslim
2) Evolution didn't happen
3) Witchcraft is real
4) Government Death Panels exist
5) Saddam was involved in 9/11 and/or had WMDs
6) Heliocentrism is correct
7) Christianity and/or Islam are older than Judaism
8) The 7 Dwarfs are easier to name than the SCOTUS justices
9) General ignorance of world geography
10) General ignorance of US government (can't name 3 branches)

2010-08-24 02:44:12 PM
Funny, what a coincidence that the percentage that think that Obama is a muslim is exactly the same as the percentage that thinks the sun revolves around the Earth.

Ignored so bumping

and came to add Americans also believe that Obama is a fully qualified president.

So they'll pretty much believe anything.

This includes witchcraft, wizardry, the tooth fairy....

Not the least bit surprised. Once on Jay Walking, Jay asked a black girl which was closer to earth, the moon or Mars. The girl says, "I should know this, I took astrology in college".

No bumping dipshiat.

The reason you didn't get a response is because your post was unoriginal.

Gordian Cipher: Heliocentrism (that the sun is the center of the universe) is not correct either. Our sun orbits our galactic center, and the galaxy itself is one of billions with no defined center to the grouping.

According to my ex, she was the center of the universe.
