He doesn't just play a zombie on weekends.

If they paid them that much, they damn well have better played "She's Not There" and "Time of the Season"...

Reading the article, someone fails miserably at math. They had the title saying $165k, but towards the bottom, they said $50k each, plus attorney fees for the 7 people...

Isn't that $350k plus attorney fees?

Great, as if paying for all their free healthcare wasn't already bad enough...

More information required.....

Read it again. The article clearly states that's what a jury could have awarded them, so the city made a deal for less.

There is fail going on, and it's your reading comprehension.

Check again, bucko.

But the mystery box could be anything. It could even be a boat weapon of mass destruction!

FTFA: However, they were never charged with any crime.

That's weird. If I arrest you, I have to charge you with something. Otherwise, I'd just be throwing in jail all the people that annoy me.

the city believes "the police acted reasonably"? From the article it sounds like the police were stupid.

If the police vampires "acted reasonably" the court should not be awarding one cent. Don't taze me, Bella!

I love the last line. Like the reporter is really trying hard to find SOMETHING the zombie-walkers did wrong and thus deserved to be accused of being terrorists. hehehehehehehehLOL ! Oh thats funny. Umm... ok. I got nothing for that one. Zombie walks are intended to be a bit of light hearted fun and amusement, yet it is by the very nature of the subject, horror. OH GOD THE ZOMBIES ARE WORKING TO UNDERMINE THE AMERICAN WAY!

The police charge you but for it to go to court the DA has to approve.

Good to see there is at least one court out there that beleives in our right to protest, and supports a persons civil right.

Terrorists eh? Why don't we just go all out and say anyone with a heartbeat is a potential terrorist?

Zombie are were people too.. Couldn't resist.

I think the two big things that got the police involved were them playing music, and scaring little kids. It doesn't mention if they were just staggering around or if they jumped at people. Now if they weren't why didn't cops hand them each a citation for noise, and public nuisance. If I were with them you could tack on public intox.

Going straight to OMFG Weapons of Mass Destruction is a bit excessive, for an ipod and speakers.

Why don't the police just keep an eye on them and not arrest them if they are worried about zombies?

Why is it so hard for them to understand they they can't just arrest anyone they feel like just because they aren't doing exactly what everyone else is doing? Maybe police should take a short class on the bill of rights and why it exists...

By the way, the Zombie Pub Crawl, which happens ever October in Minneapolis, is the best damn street party North of Mardis Gras.

FTFA: "Police asked for the zombies' identification, and when most said they had none on them, they were told they would be detained."

Hello...you don't need to have ID on you unless you're doing something that requires some sort of certification! You only need to tell cops your name--that's it.

Minimally Hairy Beer-Powered Simian: the city believes "the police acted reasonably"? From the article it sounds like the police were stupid.

A computer electronics graduate student at CMU was detained by police because a counter clerk at CVS (drug/corner store) said he was carrying a bomb around.

Now, this was in the middle of Pitt campus - which is another high-tech school. The clerk, well, you can assume that most college-age students are stupid and watch too much TV. But I'd expect the police to be knowledgeable of the fact that there are students carrying around school projects and that those may consist of electronics gear since it is near a prominent college renowned for its technology programs.

Here's the stupidest part: it was a homemade GPS unit, but it the pigs were dumb enough to detain him and handle the damn thing themselves all while suspecting it was a bomb... AND the only thing that convinced them it wasn't was the Windows CE logo on one of the circuit boards.

So, terrorists take note. To avoid suspicion from Pittsburgh police just stencil a Windows logo on your bombs.

Can't believe everyone just skipped over this little gem...

From a recent Zombie Walk in San Diego.

And yes, for our Zombie walks, participants are explicitly warned against certain behaviors:

Don't bring weapons or weapon-props. (This means you too-real Umbrella Corp. Cosplayer)
Don't bring/use any sound amplifying equipment (noise/nuisance)
Don't get your fake blood/makeup on anyone/anything else (vandalism)
Don't "reach out" for or otherwise "attack" the civilians (threatening behavior)
Don't bang on windows of shops, block traffic, or basically do anything that could even remotely be twisted into a criminal act or even if legal just piss off the local shopkeepers, because THAT'S when the city will shut down any future walks. As it stands now, the local business seem to like it because we attract a lot of attention to the downtown area and give the "straights" something to talk about.
