I've never had camel milk, but if camel meat ever makes its way to a supermarket shelf near me, I will be a happy camper.

Camel burgers are good eatin'. :D

"Sure, we've given some thought to maybe one day having a camel dairy in Europe - a place like southern Spain perhaps," said David Wernery.
I feel like they've been there before...

From TFA -

"We know this isn't what you'd call a mainstream product in the West ... We're thinking about health food stores and alternative markets. It's probably going to be a niche thing at first.

It has at least three times more vitamin C than cow's milk ... Researchers have studied possible roles for camel milk in fighting bacteria, tumors and diabetes, as well as traditional uses such as a treatment for liver disease"

Ah! The old tried-and-true Snake Oil market! Good call! Some people will buy anything, and they'll pay through the nose for it!

Just make sure you put "NATURAL" in big letters on the packaging.

"It has at least three times more vitamin C than cow's milk and is considered an alternative for the lactose-intolerant. Researchers have studied possible roles for camel milk in fighting bacteria, tumors and diabetes, as well as traditional uses such as a treatment for liver disease across the range from central Asia to North Africa"

So they studied and what were their findings? Who studied it? Were their findings published in a respected peer reviewed journal? Perhaps camel milk does sweet FA to fight bacteria, tumors, and diabetes. Perhaps it makes those conditions even worse.

I wonder if the alt health movement is by and large too stupid to spot the ambiguity in such non-claims.

Let me bring this down to a remedial "Math in Life" level so you can comprehend it. The statement was in regards to having never seen an udder and teets on a camel. Thus the "they hide them well" comment.

Holly: We're a bit short on a few supplies.
Lister: Like what?
Holly: Cow's milk. Ran out of that yonks ago. Fresh and dehydrated.
Lister: What kind of milk are we using now?
Holly: Emergency back-up supply. We're on the dog's milk.
Lister: Dog's milk?
Holly: Nothing wrong with dog's milk. Full of goodness, full of vitamins, full of marrowbone jelly. Lasts longer than any other type of milk, dog's milk.
Lister: Why?
Holly: No bugger'll drink it. And the advantage of dog's milk is that when it goes off it tastes exactly the same as when it's fresh.
Lister: Why didn't you tell me, Hol?
Holly: What, and spoil your tea?

And for what it's worth, you're the first to understand the origin of the login.

Subby, that was a great pun. Hopefully with the oncoming demand for camel's milk there won't be drama at the dairy. Or they let bactrian in the milk.

It is written in the Saheeh Hadith

"Anas said, "Some people of 'Ukl or 'Uraina tribe came to Medina and its climate did not suit them. So the Prophet (peace be upon him) ordered them to go to the herd of (Milch) camels and to drink their milk and urine (as a medicine). So they went as directed and after they became healthy. (Sahih Bukhari, Ablutions (Wudu'), Volume 1, Book 4, Number 234)"

Today Premarin is an ingredient for many medicines found in pregnant mare urine that may also be found in camel urine it is good for headaches.

No. Premarin is the name for estrogen refined from then urine of pregnant horses.
