I feel a little dirty, having seen those. But having the weird science chick in there (pre-fuglification) is pretty awesome.

There are good fake comic covers. These are not them.

2010-08-21 09:47:48 AM
Meh. Nice pencil work, though.

2010-08-21 09:47:54 AM
I'll admit.

The '88 League of Extraordinary Gentlemen would be awesome

Alien vs. Predator vs. Ted Nugent.

I love it.

2010-08-21 10:03:20 AM
If Hollywood can crank out a new AvP movie every six months I don't see how they haven't worked Nugent in already.

Next- Piranha3D Rebooted with Bill Dance and the guy from River Monsters.

2010-08-21 10:04:33 AM
The Batman and Motorhead issue would have to come with a built in music system that played Killed by Death, The Ace of Spades and Orgasmatron on a continuous loop. Only thing that could make it more awesome.

2010-08-21 10:05:50 AM
I don't quite get it. These seem to be just one off images, but at the top in the intro-blurb it says there have been "13 issues". But in the bottom it says again "if these comics are ever made".

Want.

This. I'd buy that book in a second.

The others though were kinda weak. Nice artwork though.

Yeah, vampire Tony Montana just seems too good to pass up.

Thirded, or fourthed. Whatever. I'd buy that book.

The Ted Nugent one would be interesting...he likely would have lure the Alien to the fight by leaving tied up children in places the Alien frequents.

The David Lee Roth made me laugh, mostly because of its handy wallpaper format.

The '88 League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

Dear Hollywood,

Please stop giving me stupid movies and make this happen.

Thanks,

Lee's_Austin: Alien vs. Predator vs. Ted Nugent.

I love it.

Nugent sees something that can fight back.

Nugent shiats and pees his pants.

The end.

Oh, wait a minute, never mind.

Yes. Yes! I LIKE IT! MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Yeah, but which Nugent are talking about? The Cat Scratch Fever version of Nugent or the 2010 version on Nugent? I'd say the CSF version of Nugent wouldn't win the war, but make a bold attempt at kicking some ass.

2010-08-21 11:32:46 AM
If they can bring characters back from the dead they can make these comics. The Ted Nugent vs. Alien vs. Predator would make a great gag gift.

Your logic is fascinating. Also incomprehensible.

The five seconds I looked at the cover for A vs P vs N were the only five seconds in my entire life that I liked Ted Nugent.

The rest of the covers sucked, though.

Hey go figure. It's Saturday and a comic book link is posted to THE SHOWBIZ TAB.

Comics are not Showbiz. How many times are we gonna do this before it sinks in?

I contribute more? If you say so.

Here's a thread with some good ones from just a bit back that aren't just BBSpot-level hardy-har-har covers.

There are a lot more out there, but I'm not going to search for your lazy ass. Oh, and your headline does suck.

Those were, well, kinda boring. It was all swapping characters or reversing covers, no different then a "What if?". At least this article had original ideas.

Comic Book Guy: That was an imaginary story, dreamt by Jimmy Olsen after he was kicked in the head by Supergirl's horse, Comet. It never really happened.

Bart: None of these things ever really happened.

In the submission form, it's called "Entertainment". Which I think comic books fit into.

Exactly.

When war-hero-turned-handyman Kesuke Miyagi is found drained of blood, it becomes clear that the occult gang known as the Lost Boys are targeting the only individuals that can stop them from complete domination of America. It's the perfect case for the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen--except that their government contact, Oscar Goldman, disbanded the team in 1979 after they defeated Mr. Han's army of the living dead.

Now, disgraced scientist Emmet Brown has to put together a new team to combat the growing threat of the Lost Boys and their leader, a newly resurrected vampire kingpin Tony Montana: Transportation specialist Jack Burton, ex-commando B.A. Baracus, tech wizard Angus MacGyver and the mysteriously powerful femme fatale known only as "Lisa." But will Brown be able to stop the Lost Boys before time runs out?

....Holy awesome.

Wasn't my headline. Just found it amusing you were complaining about it when you have none yourself.

Oh_Enough_Already: Just found it amusing you were complaining about it when you have none yourself.

So let me follow your logic here: Because none of the three or four articles I've submitted to Fark in eight years was greenlighted, this headline was actually clever and thoughtful?

I would buy that book. the others were pretty lame except the Mary Jane/Black Cat book. That one needs a mature label.

Dear Sonder - the jump isn't there because

oh hell. I'm not even going to bother explaining to you how jumps work and why you don't see them when the full story is posted to Fark.

Either you're trolling, or you just don't get it.

They stole the Comiccon one from Dean Venture. Straight up.

Otherwise, this article hits lots of great 80s nostalgia buttons, so I give it four thumbs up out of five.

/I'll buy anything with M.O.D.O.K. on the cover.

Dumb-Ass-Monkey: oh hell. I'm not even going to bother explaining to you how jumps work and why you don't see them when the full story is posted to Fark.

Don't worry, I'll do it. The "after the jump" reference appears because the content producers for the website are either too lame or too lazy to use CSS that hides the reference when it's being displayed on a platform where "after the jump" is totally irrelevant. They're trying to provide a "convenience" for mobile and RSS users, but are oblivious to the fact that they're simultaneously creating something that makes their browser-based content look stupid.

Hope this helps.

Count me in the '88 League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. That actually sounds like it would be either an interesting read or be a great movie!
