Food has only sucked since the Dems took over. Back in 2003, food was awesome, and laced with Freedom. Especially the fries.

I would like a link to your blog. If the EPA and enviros keep it up (regulating farm dust and calling for California water restrictions, respectively, among other stunts) we will be as dependent on foreign grown food as we are on oil. As it is, a lot of our fish, fruits and vegetables are products of Chile.

On the one hand, the first thing women did after getting the vote was push through prohibition.

On the other hand, if only men voted, Teabaggers would be in control of congress.

I believed that when I said it, but when I looked it up the gender gap in voting patterns was smaller than I thought - Obama actually won men, but barely.

A lack of women's suffrage would still mean an electorate 3% more Republican, which makes a difference in a lot of close races. They'd be poised to take back the senate and might never have lost the house, and given the current crop I find that a scary thought.

Volstead Act - 1917
Women's Suffrage - 1920
Repeal of Volstead Act begins - 1932

Also, according to Wiki:
Women as a bloc of voters and activists became pivotal in the effort to repeal, as many concluded that the effects of Prohibition were morally corrupting families, women, and children... Activist Pauline Sabin argued that repeal would protect families from the corruption, violent crime, and underground drinking that resulted from Prohibition. In 1929 Sabin founded the Women's Organization for National Prohibition Reform (WONPR), which came to be partly composed of and supported by former Prohibitionists; its membership was estimated at 1.5 million by 1931.

"If we took away women's right to vote, we'd never have to worry about another Democrat president. It's kind of a pipe dream, it's a personal fantasy of mine, but I don't think it's going to happen. And it is a good way of making the point that women are voting so stupidly, at least single women. It also makes the point, it is kind of embarrassing, the Democratic Party ought to be hanging its head in shame, that it has so much difficulty getting men to vote for it. I mean, you do see it's the party of women and 'We'll pay for health care and tuition and day care - and here, what else can we give you, soccer moms?'"

This is what we are voting against.

90 years ago today, American women stepped out of the kitchen and into the voting booth

It is cool but don't pretend that it has actually improved anything. Women as a whole have almost always voted on the side of security at the expense of freedom, and as we know that path always results in the loss of both security and freedom. Women were behind prohibition and thus are responsible for the organized crime and violence that followed and if you think about it that organized crime is still in place today. Even the black and hispanic gangs in urban areas try to copy the Italian mafia.

I find trolls immensely entertaining. Honestly, I do.
It is not the trolls I worry about, it's the droves of people that blindly follow them.
In case you were not aware of this, Ann Coulter's books sell very well, even after that are papered all over the place.

Ah, yes, and Sarah Palin chooses this day to share another insightful tweet:

"Who hijacked term:"feminist"?A cackle of rads who want 2 crucify other women w/whom they disagree on a singular issue; it's ironic (& passé)".

Not only can I not figure out what the "singular issue" is, but I'm also befuddled as to the definition of a "cackle." And the use of "ironic" in this statement. And the elitistly-accented "passé." And, well, damn...all of those words used together, actually.

I'd say the 19th Amendment has a serious downside, but then I hear most male politicians and media personalities open their mouths and realize that gender is completely uncorrelated with stupidity.

You can take off the blindfold anytime you like and look at where most of the money goes and why we're in so much debt... I'll give you a hint: What you just named is a far cry from our worst problem.

But then again you knew that didn't you?

So in reality I'll just translate what you said:

'I'm perfectly fine with out of control government spending that creates massive deficits just so long as its on programs I like.'

Or, "the obvious custom gOOgle logo the artist came up with was hilarious, but we don't want our faces scratched."

LarryDan43: It was not what our founding fathers intended.

And I'm sure Abigail Adams didn't let John hear the end of it.

"I long to hear that you have declared an independency. And, by the way, in the new code of laws which I suppose it will be necessary for you to make, I desire you would remember the ladies and be more generous and favorable to them than your ancestors.

"Do not put such unlimited power into the hands of the husbands.

"Remember, all men would be tyrants if they could. If particular care and attention is not paid to the ladies, we are determined to foment a rebellion, and will not hold ourselves bound by any laws in which we have no voice or representation."
(new window)

Seriously, though, it really ticks me off when I know women who don't bother to vote. Women were beaten, imprisoned, and force fed when they would go on hunger strikes in order to get you the right to vote and you don't have time because you have to go get a manicure? Really?

It has been demonstrated time and again that when women vote for president they invariably vote for the male candidate who is more "handsome" according to the standards of the day.
Men are not immune from this sort of frivolity either. Men almost invariably vote for the taller guy. In short neither gender should be allowed to vote.

No. Not enough child prostitution/pimping in his background for ACORN assistance. They were initially interested because he does have a bunch of undeclared income as I provide everything for him, but the pimp thing is a hard standard.
