Tuesday was anything but a routine day for Deputy Brandon Jenkins, who spent three hours in his patrol car after nearly 50,000 honeybees decided to park on it.

The cop is a pussy. It appears the cop is still hiding out in the car while two, unprotected people are cleaning the bees off without a worry. Video quality makes it hard to tell he's in the car, but you can see his head turn around the 6s mark.

It's a bit facile to call the cop a pussy--I've kept bees, and if you don't know how to deal with a dry swarm (i.e., one that's been searching for a home for a while) which is about to attack you, you'd be best off just doing what he did. Multiple bee stings can be pretty dangerous.

I'm be given to not beguile the bees and I beg to differ. I believed from the beginning of the story the generally benign bees beading the cruiser beat it to the beams of rotating beacons. Had the bewildered cop not flashed the beacons the beneficial bees behavior would tend to be more benevolent and likely wouldn't have befouled his car. Beforehand one needs to be responsive to the bees senses so the bees will befriend people and less harm will befall them. I'm glad even though beekeepers felt they needed to smoke the smokey that he still feels beholding to them and it is now behind him.

While I'm generally a participant in cop bashing threads, this guy doesn't have it coming. He didn't pointlessly destroy a bunch of important and valuble insects. He didn't panic and drive off. I think he stayed cool and professional. If he tazed the truck driver that would bee different.
