In my opinion (which I will acknowledge is in no way reasonable), animal cruelty should always be punished eye for an eye.

Wow, what a nutjob. Terminate the defective human and give the cat a home with sane, loving people.

Obviously this guy needs some cooking lessons. Burnt fur would overpower the marinade.

Why was he marinating the cat alive? What was he going to do? Eat the cat whole?

/glad they found it alive
//Cat is way too string anyway.

There are really too many cats as it is. Eating them may be an answer, but it's unpalatable to most Americans (but not to Vietnamese!)

Still, if you are marinating meat, it makes sense to de-fur it first, as someone else mentioned upthread.

People who don't spay or neuter their cats should have their pets taken away from them.

2010-08-11 01:34:49 PM
this doesn't make much sense, I would think that it would be best to marinate the cat, after you remove his fur and internal organs

What the fark is this "hossenfeffer" you're writing about, subby?

HASENPFEFFER
1 dressed rabbit
2 c. water
2 c. vinegar
1 onion, sliced
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. cloves
1 tbsp. bay leaves
Place rabbit, cut into serving pieces, in a jar with all ingredients. Let stand in cool place 2 days. Remove meat and brown in hot butter. Turn often. Gradually add 1 cup of pickling solution; cover and simmer for 1 hour or until meat is tender. Thicken the remaining liquid for gravy. Yield: 4 servings.

/That's all

This man is obviously not right in the head. I mean, who marinates meat by dumping a live animal in spices?

Now, if the animal had been properly killed, cleaned, and the choicest cuts were sitting marinating in the oil and peppers, I might want to get recipes from that guy.

What, a bizarre story

2010-08-11 01:40:25 PM
FTA: Police say Korkuc told them he did it because Navarro was ill-tempered.

I can't imagine why.

And FTA: Korkuc also told officers a number of things that didn't make sense, including that his neutered male cat was pregnant.

Now I know why. If I was a male, got neutered AND pregnant, I would likely be ill-tempered too.

Guy seems to have missed step 1 & 2 of the process. Although he did have the foresight to figure that the cat would be tastier with a nice marinade.

Here's an ancient Anatolian treat. Here's the recipe, translated from the Lydian:

* Pisidian cat kebab a la Hacilar *

1 cat
1 knife (flint preferred)
fresh potter's clay
fresh aromatic herbs
1 carrot (scraped)
1 potter's kiln
1 mallet

Gut but do not skin cat. (This part is easier if you kill the cat first.)

Fill the abdominal cavity with fresh herbs.

Insert the carrot in the anal vent.

Arrange cat in interesting position and then completely coat with potter's clay to form a statue keeping as close as possible to the original outlines.

Allow clay to dry to leather-hardness. At this point the surface may be lightly incised to depict the cat's eyes, nose, mouth, whiskers, etc.

Fire in kiln.

Remove. Allow to cool somewhat before bringing to table.

Whack head of terra-catta statue with mallet breaking the ceramic shell. (This by the way is the origin of the Mexican pinata.)

As the fur will have adhered to the inside of the shell, the cat will emerge completely skinned and juicy-tender.

Serve with a green salad and plenty of fresh-baked bread. A simple rose goes best with cat however an unpretentious young red is also to be recommended.

Meow. Enjoy!

/kidding, though it's supposed to be a real recipe

Am I the only one who thought the cat was entirely too thin? What was he making, horse de overies?

2010-08-11 02:22:32 PM
What kind of idiot does this? Everyone knows that act goes better with earthy herbs, such as clove, bay leaf, and sage. Spicy chilis would be overpowered by the cat-meat's gamey flavor.

2010-08-11 02:22:41 PM
This guy is obviously suffering from mental issues. I'm not able to quite drum up the normal hatred I would for animal cruelty stories. I do wish I could adopt this cat, however.
