they know they're on the hot-seat for all their race baiting lately... why the fark wouldn't they triple-check this shiat?

2010-08-03 02:15:28 PM
Van Susteren took to her blog immediately after the show to apologize for the mistake and to say that she and her staff were "sick over" it.

"OOPS...we so screwed up on this one and we are sick about it..." the blog post was titled.

"Right now we are trying to console ourselves with the fact that, while we did a doozy of a mistake, at least it was unintentional, we noticed it immediately and scrambled to fix it immediately," she wrote. "And yes, even with telling ourselves that, we still feel horrible! (and we should feel horrible!)"

Van Susteren acknowledged that it was "a very bad mistake and a painful one for which we are very apologetic.

"We really don't know what to say and there is nothing that you can post to make us feel better (not that we deserve to feel better!) This mistake was bad, very bad and we are immensely sorry," she concluded.

Good call, subby. What a racist biatch.

FlashHarry: they know they're on the hot-seat for all their race baiting lately... why the fark wouldn't they triple-check this shiat?

Because it was on purpose? Their audience doesn't care and they know some blogger will get their endocrine system all bent out of shape over it and give them some free publicity. So it's a win win from their perspective.

i don't doubt that she was mad as hell. she seems a little less negrophobic than most of the fox "pundits." but, still... you'd think they'd be extra-cautious these days.

It should be interesting to see if Fox enforces that No Mistakes policy they enacted last year, and shiatcans someone.

I don't even like Fox, but what happened here was likely some dumb PA clicking the wrong filename (likely named DCIM-02309239812098239823 or somesuch).

There are plenty of legitimate issues with Fox without trying to turn every mistake they make into flamebait.

Do you think they should shiat-can the person who erroneously named the file or the person who inserted it into the feed? Perhaps they should just fire the anchor because you know she is the one who was on camera when the production line put the graphic in. biatch!!

Actually, an asian person once told me that all white people looked the same to him. I viewed this with very mild interest.

Should I have been extremely offended?

I'd agree, except this is the same channel that inverts D's and R's when the R does something bad, creates pie charts that add up to more than 100%, got a court order saying it was okay to lie, and shows videos of protests and marches that aren't really videos of the march/protest in question. They've done this too many times at this point. It might be an honest mistake, but why assume that when the overwhelming evidence from past behavior indicates otherwise?

Perhaps they should stop race-baiting, deceit, lies, and be an actual "news network" instead of being an "entertainment channe;" and you know, be more fair and balanced. And then people would chalk it up to be a mistake.

But hate to tell you, this is the channel that does it so often and puts D's instead of R's next to Representative's names when they're caught doing something unethical and illegal. I don't see them putting R's instead of D's when the Democratic folk are caught doing something bad now do I?

Because metadata is clearly too complicated for a major cable news network to utilize.

Or they could not fire anybody, publish an apology for running an erroneous graphic, and move on.

If somebody got fired on TV production anytime a wrong graphic was used, there would be 3 people left in the industry.

anwserman: I don't see them putting R's instead of D's when the Democratic folk are caught doing something bad now do I?

To be fair, what democratic folk have been caught doing something bad recently? (I know this sounds really silly, but humor me. I don't pay too much attention to the name labels)

Fark It: Because metadata is clearly too complicated for a major cable news network to utilize.

It would hardly be the first time a mistake by a low-level employee gets transmitted for the world to see.

It's almost like if I was a regular Fox News viewer I'd be concerned that maybe, just maybe, Fox News and Breitbart have a racist agenda, and Greta's over the top reaction to a totally preventable and amateurish mistake would assuage my worries.

wasn't it just that one time with the D and the R?

So lets see it, Fox News has been around since about 1996, and here we go, mistakes:
- mistakingly showed footage from the April 15 tea party and said it was some other rally
- Mistakingly put a D next to mark foley's name instead of an R
- And played footage of the wrong black lady

What else?

Oh, and where is that hate for CNN when the put a screensize X over dick cheney? Oh, i guess you don't like him so it doesn't matter. I'm willing to admit that the X was a mistake, probably and accident.

Maybe, but come on these are the kind of mistakes you have to be very careful about because this is what can happen.

Was it an error? Perhaps, but they should be careful not to make too many of them or people will start to think that the people at Fox News can't tell one black lady from another.
