This is horrible... The conditions they were in sound absolutely appalling. I can`t imagine the hopelessness they must have felt, and the effects this is going to have on their future development. Not just the mental, but the effects the lack of nutrition must have had on their future potential.

But I just have to ask... Is 30lbs for a 5 year old really THAT bad?

I mean this as an honest question.
If he`s been malnourished I imagine he is smaller in stature than normal. My 6 year old is less than 30 lbs, but is just fine.

my 5 year old is 46 lbs. and he is not the slightest biatchubby and in the 45th percentile for height. 30 sounds very light to me, but I am not an expert.

I'm just glad that the prosecutor was smart enough to realize that never seeing her mom again was really the best decision.

Prisoners hate child abusers. Children are what keep most inmates sane during their tenure. Stories will get out, and I imagine a long portion of their life sentences will be carried out in the infirmary wing.

I want to go snuggle my daughter right now, hold her close to me and tell her how much I love her, then pack up some sandwiches and go to the park.
