China is struggling to contain social tensions and anger over issues ranging from the cost of healthcare to a rapidly widening rich-poor gap......

This sounds vaguely familiar. Where have I seen this lately?

The weird thing is that there isn't any particular reason for that to be in the article...

Hm ...
In the US, crazy / angry / drunk / disgruntled males go on shooting sprees. In China, crazy / angry / drunk / disgruntled males go berserk with front-loaders, go stabby in kindergartens, or poison food in competing restaurants.

Not sure which is scarier, but the chinese seem to be more innovative.

Sorry lad, but as history teaches us, countries with alrge populations of Surplus males do not kill each other for women, but instead start wars of conquest and expansion. Since both China and India have Populations of ~1 billion plus and a Male to female ratios of roughly 1.3 ior 1.4 to 1, it's my theory that one or the other of them is going to start WWIII. If we are very lucky, it will be when they go to war with each other, most likely in an escalation of a naval dispute over who owns what in that part fo the ocean.

"Chinaman" is not the preferred nomenclature...

And "nomenclature" is not the preferred term for 'label', or just plain 'name' that something or someone may be 'called', but I'll bite:

The proper replacement term sure as hell isn't 'Asian' which is quite possibly the worst, least specific and descriptive label since "Indian" was used to describe native Americans, or Injuns as I call them.

Here's the whole quote (from the princess bride):

Vizzini: "You only think I guessed wrong! That's what's so funny! I switched glasses when your back was turned! Ha ha! You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders - The most famous of which is "never get involved in a land war in Asia" - but only slightly less well-known is this: "Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line"! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha..."
