brandnewchair: soupbone: brandnewchair: fark you all.
i see him every chance i get. already have tickets to both of his next chicago shows.

sure hope he doesnt die.

brandnewchair: truthfully, i feel old at deadmau5 concerts. (im 36, seems like the average age is about 20)
but i just dont care... those shows are amazing.

/in before the seasoned electro-heads start biatching about those damn kids.

Are you his personal fluffer too? Good God man have some self respect. You sound like a teenage girl groupie at a NKOTB concert.

i am.
no shame either. its been a long time since something has shown up and gotten me this excited about music.
really. i feel like a teenage girl at a NKOTB concert.
so why should i suppress that?

meatofmystery: man...i like my share of electronic music...but why i'd pay for tickets to watch a guy stand up , wear a silly mask, and twist nobs and press buttons for 2 hours.....i just don't get it...

this is why:

The only way I could manage something like that now-a-days is with E.
looks like it could be a lot of fun.

Ishkur: Joel Zimmerman (his real name) is just about the biggest poser. Everything about him is fake. He's like that rich kid back in highschool who was a big loser and decided to buy his way into the cool scene by purchasing all the requisite stuff. In this case, music gear.

He's also a big dick. He argues with EVERY ONE of his detractors online, in several forums. He has a massive inferiority complex and does not take criticism very well (he will mock you if you express disdain for his music on tranceaddict, for instance....like a petulant little child). He needs to stop doing that, grow up, and get a PR agent. Because he still comes off as just a rotten, spoiled little smart-ass because he thinks he's being clever and cool.

He and Rusko got into a fight here in Dallas a couple weeks ago. Rusko was smoking a joint backstage and the Mouse caught him and basically tattled. Then they bickered over twitter or some shiat, I dunno, I just thought that was kinda funny.

Nope, first time I ever saw that.

Lets compare

It's so middle man, they're like farking lawyers! You need them, but they're farking coonts. God bless them, they're my number one customer right, so I'm not gonna go dis every farking DJ. But to say you become this massive, "up on a podium" performer by playing other peoples productions, at the same speed as someone else's productions and fading between the two of them, I don't get it..."

You: "You Sir, win. Everyone can go home now.
/is glad he's not the only one who thinks this"

nice.
10/10. now THATS how you troll.

Touche good Sir. I am not so much of a douchebag to know when I have been bested.

/tips hat, I honestly didn't read it and it was late when we were having our posting fun

Can't troll a troll brah. I'm the new math bro.

I was at the concert and I have the following observations:

He ducked down and walked off the stage, he didn't "collapse" on stage at all.
We stood outside for at least an hour just chit-chatting with people and there was no ambulance.
He just presses play on his CD and bounces his mouse head, unfortunately he only wore the head for about 30 seconds of the set.

I have no doubt that he was sick and whatever but he should be a man and own up to it and cancel the show or at the very least give refunds. 40 dollars for 40 minutes of what amounted to a listening party for his CD was hardly worth it.

I knew about that but had totally forgotten about it. Good show.

Marla Singer's Laundry: Uh, dude, ALL dance music is in 4/4. ALL of it.

There are some exceptions. Some Flamenco dances are in compound meter. Some Basque dances are in 5/8 or 5/4, for example. But that's folk/ethnic music.

Leftfield and Hybrid have both played around with 6/8, and they're technically "dance." Unless you meant "house."

Not impressed. DJ's are not musicians in my opinion. Why people care about this person is WELL beyond me. If he doesn't recover, I won't cry over it.

you know he writes the music first, right?
maybe its not music to you if someone uses a computer to make it, but art evolves.
you know that, right?

Your tears are delicious.

Again I will state, he is a DJ. DJ's are not musicians. Syncing two iPods to play the same BPM and then fading them in and out does not a musician make.

Try again tho, cause your douchebaggery hipster arguments will amuse me. Do you need an example of a real musician?

You can start here.

Man you are stupid. He makes his own music. That makes him a musician. Grow a brain, retard.

the trolls, they are winning bigtime here.

I like deadmau5 and was sad that he couldn't make Osheaga last night. Still an amazing show though.

I bought Deadmau5'(?) first CD, but haven't really liked anything else outside of it.

As far as DJ'ing goes, I could really care less who does it, as long as they have a song selection I like.

Probably a dead thread by now, but the news is still a bummer. Lots of health hazards in the music biz and all. Besides, the dude isn't BT but he's a respectable development in the evolution of tunes.

From all I've seen or read, at least he is working the live production angle. All that hater bullshiat about not playing an instrument is ignorant in that he uses software and controllers and original source tones as the instrument. Dude deserves at least a little credit as an entry point to the deeper depths of electronic/tech enhanced music.

Haven't released it anywhere, but one of my favorite tracks to mix in is Strobe (around 5min mark) and then play guitar + EFX/EQ on the APC40 as able.

If you're gonna knock on the dude, my submission is the total f*ckup of him and The Public Record with a really awesome potential contest that was garbage. Lesson learned, but I still dig his tracks.

He is a DJ, that automatically makes him less of a human being, let alone being a musician. If he dies from whatever it is he has, I'll actually do a little happy dance.

If I can sync two iPods to the same BPM and fade them in and out can I be a DJ, too?

Someone who is more intelligent then you are, evidently. Take your pick, either one applies when we factor in your mighty mental prowess.
