You can google my information, but I don't do social sites... Anyone I want to communicate with, I already do, or meet through some other fashion. I still manage to have a number of Inet friends without the use of social sites.

There is really nothing in it that isn't already in a hundred other places as well, but I suppose it could be useful to someone cross-checking their data warehouse information to eliminate duplicate entries or something like that. Nobody is going to lose their identity over it who wouldn't already be otherwise compromised in that regard anyway. It is a non-issue.

That's not nearly as true as you make it seem. There are many, many "faithful" with full internet access. A majority of them are offered a pay service that restricts their internet for them. Why they would want it, I'm not sure. However, to claim that "the faithful" can't access a torrent site is completely erroneous.

Honestly, my first thought was something akin to what jagec posted above - it's probably just employees sneaking a peek at the facebook torrent while at work, rather than some nefarious privacy invasion by evil corporations.

Hell, I accidentally double-clicked Team Fortress 2 at work the other day and the system detected it as a P2P program and permabanned my MAC address.

Fortunately that's a 5 second fix in OSX.
