Football's still on Monday nights? Too busy watching WWF Raw.

2001-10-09 09:07:26 AM
The Lions suck so bad, even the die hard fans laugh at them.

2001-10-09 09:10:52 AM
The Lions have die hard fans?

I think I will skip the next one.

2001-10-09 09:13:35 AM
And after that, Baltimore vs. suddenly sucking Tennessee.

2001-10-09 09:14:59 AM
Care!

2001-10-09 09:15:39 AM
I watched up until the half, and at halftime, when they kneeled with 25 seconds left, all I could see was debris being thrown from the stands and loud booing. They also showed the stands and you could just see the people filing out.

2001-10-09 09:15:51 AM
It always makes me sad to see two 0-whatever teams play, since one of them will come out with a win. This lessens the chances of seeing a team go through the entire season with nothing but losses, which I find very amusing.

I'll still watch next weeks game, just to root for whatever team is ahead at the time.

2001-10-09 09:16:28 AM
I live in detroit area and I've been lions fan for most of my life, I have never once been as embarrased to admit that until this pitiful season began... May god grant us with a top 5 pick that isnt a fark up lol... where's Gus Ferotte when we need him? =op

2001-10-09 09:21:33 AM
Has anyone noticed how many blowouts there have already been on MNF this season?

all field goals

2001-10-09 09:28:27 AM
Go Red Wings.

2001-10-09 09:33:01 AM
One of my friend's fathers has 6 season tickets in the first row on the 45 yard line behind the Lions bench. He gave the rest of the season to her b/c he is simply that disgusted. :-)

2001-10-09 09:34:02 AM
lol yeah ViciousMark, Redwings are the only thing we michiganders pride ourselves on other than how fast our snowmobiles are or how many deer we shot in one week.

2001-10-09 09:35:10 AM
You can tell which ones are the hardcore fans- they are the ones with the paper bags over their heads. (True!)

They even got a chant of "Go Red Wings!" going.

2001-10-09 09:42:41 AM
No matter how BAD the Lions get... I would much rather watch them receive an ass whuppin' than resort to watching the LPGA or the National Dog Championships *shiver* I wanna punch the damn TV everytime ESPN puts that llama crap on lol.

Lesab - From Ann Arbor. No snowblower; no deer last year. Guess I should think about moving ;)

Personally I stick to College football. GO BLUE!!

2001-10-09 09:49:57 AM
I have a co-worker that is a Lions fan but I can't make fun of him or the lions cuz I'm a Skins fan. I really hope the skins win the "Who sucks the worst" game against the Cowboys.

2001-10-09 09:52:16 AM
Rams 4-0, Cardinals in the playoffs... I just wish we could get the Blues into a Stanley Cup...then all would be Rosy here in St. Louis :>

2001-10-09 09:53:24 AM
Odd. No matter how crappy pointyball gets, you don't have hordes of soccer fans flooding the thread bashing people who enjoy it.

2001-10-09 09:55:21 AM
It'll be competitive and I'll be there!! Look for the Skins fan club just off the end zone.

2001-10-09 10:02:53 AM
As bad as soccer is, did anyone catch the National Jump-rope Championships last night on espn? The have 3 judges watching 1 person. . . Jump...

2001-10-09 10:04:57 AM
Pop quiz, hotshot.

I'm a huge Cowboys fan and thus hate the Skins. Also, this could be the Boys only win this season. Also it's MNF.

I'm also a huge wrestling fan. However, the WWF is putting out some serious garbage these days. However, this RAW will be the major buildup show for the PPV

What do I do? Do I watch crap A or crap B?

2001-10-09 10:16:04 AM
I watched the entire game, because when I'm 60 years old (35 years from now) and the Lions win the Super Bowl, I want to be able to tell everyone I was with them the WHOOOOOOOOOLE disgusting, painful, atrocious way. I'm there through thick and thin. When the Lions have an 8-8 season, its outstanding! When they go 0-4, none of us are really surprised.

2001-10-09 10:18:23 AM
Rapier: the Blows (mis-spelled on purpose) will win a cup when they want it bad enough

2001-10-09 10:25:36 AM
i'm looking forward to next week. Footballs equivilant of a b movie that's "so bad it's good". Really though, I think if you need a good laugh watch next weeks MNF.
random, shots:
don't you find the "hogettes" (sp, that credit card commercial with the Redskin fans wearing dresses and fake pig noses) commercials that much more funny?
it would be funny to see a team go 0 wins. Has this ever happened?
I had another funny one (or not, probably, if you didn't find the first 2 funny), but I forgot it. Wish I had decent cable so I could tape Raw whilst watching MNF. And I agree, the WWF seems a bit sporadic lately, putting out some really good and really bad stuff.
Remember the begining of the year though? Yeesh, that was *garbage*....(Taker and Kane/HHH & SCSA...yeah, put the tag titles of t&k just to throw all the titles on HHH and SCSA. Compelling TV. Ok, I deserve a flame or 2 after all that =) )

2001-10-09 10:27:03 AM
Lions do indeed have die hard fans, they are the ones with the grocery bags on their heads with eye holes cut into them. Go Tigers Major League Mudhen Affiliate

2001-10-09 10:31:38 AM
farking LIONS didnt score any farking points you pieces of trash. Give me 14 points you assholes and I win money, BUT NOoooooooooooooooooooooo you can even do that. Fre-aking potato hell man....

Sports Illustrated should recheck their denominator for the league averages.

2001-10-09 11:05:29 AM
I loved the "Let's go Red Wings" chant. That was some funny stuff. I don't know if I'm going to tune in next week, however. Unless Melissa Stark is going to be in the buff for the next game, it's going to be a tough sell.

2001-10-09 11:05:39 AM
"It always makes me sad to see two 0-whatever teams play, since one of them will come out with a win. This lessens the chances of seeing a team go through the entire season with nothing but losses, which I find very amusing."

Actually remember a few years back when the Giants and Skins were in one of the last games of the season and went a whole four quarters without either coming out on top and then went a whole OT period without scoring. Even though had a chance to get a field goal but Michael Westbrook got the team a penalty for removing his helmet on the field? That COULD happen you know, nobody wins they just tie the game.

2001-10-09 11:37:54 AM

I have NEVER seen cheap cowboy tickets.
Usually you could count on spending $60 a head.

2001-10-09 11:41:39 AM
fishbulb: when i put my bets in on saturday, i looked at the line for DET and thought "13 1/2??? Saint Louis will win by FIVE touchdowns!" and had a nice little chuckle. And bet saint loo. and won! weeee, i was right, i was right.
and never forget the Chargers (MY chargers) with their chance to make history last year as the only 0-16 team. if it wasn't for that dismal kicker in Kansas City (even though i fully approve of embarrassing the chiefs) we'd have gotten it done. Ah well.

The MNF producers and the schedule makers of The NFL are idiots!!!
With the parity in football the last 3 years you would think they had the insight to realize that last years playoff teams(See Vikings & Titans)are this years push overs.Since there will be 32 teams next year and they play 16 games in a regular season ABC & the schedule makers should make sure every team gets to play on MNF AT LEAST ONCE a season. My beloved Bears, who have sucked crap the last couple of years, deserve to be on this year but are screwed like 1/3 of the NFL teams and their backers are ever year.It can be accomplished very easily for next year.
Hey NFL & MNF,JUST DO IT JERKOFFS!!!!
GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2001-10-09 11:51:19 AM
live in Detroit, was a Lions fan until they gave up Speilman. Who can name the last good Detroit quarterback?

2001-10-09 11:52:55 AM
I remember this from 25 ticks left in the second quarter:
"if he kneels here, there's going to be a fusillade of boos."
(qb kneel) (crowd: BOOOOOOOO!!!)
"there's your fusillade."

Three words on better Monday Night Football ratings:
Melissa Stark Naked.

2001-10-09 11:55:57 AM
Damn, but don't the Cowboys suck!?

...I like 'em, but hey... THEY SUCK!

I'll be glad when they recover.

On the bright side, they'll be getting better draft choices.

Hopefully.

2001-10-09 12:05:53 PM
Balnoneyflaps: don't know if the 'boys will be getting good picks or not. Didn't they trade those away for Galloway etc trying to make one last push last year?

I think we'll be sucking for years to come.

2001-10-09 12:06:38 PM
Here's someone rooting for 2 0-0 ties between Dallas and Washington. Since they both can't go 0-16, 0-14-2 is the best I can hope for.

And the fark.com pigskin pool is heating up (I'm in 2nd place overall in picking wins with a 42-16 record)

2001-10-09 12:09:45 PM
Rams. 'Nuff said.

Got to rant.

Absolutely, without a doubt hate the cowboys. I am in the minority around here, since I live in Arkansas and they are the closest so-called NFL team around.

What was up with letting their best player go during the preseason and keeping that worthless peice of crap QB Wright, that was wrong! The only smart thing they have ever done was stick Stoener in at QB, but they only do that when they are losing by an embarrasing amount. And what does he do, put points on the board every time. You would think the coach would notice these sorts of things...

Cowboys suck, Vikings suck (this year at least), Skins suck, and the Ravens are a team that got lucky.

2001-10-09 12:42:59 PM
Fresh I'm in the Top Ten!?!? Man I thought I was long gone...Last good Detroit QB? Lane? Sure as shiat wasn't Rodney Peete....Bagheads, we're the Bagheads

2001-10-09 12:58:51 PM
Yeah, but it's Redskins/Cowboys!

Duh duh duh duh duh duh *to the theme from Monday Night Football

2001-10-09 01:00:51 PM
I think the lions would be best off loosing all their games and gettig a first round draft pick. A quaterback? ;-)

2001-10-09 01:02:51 PM
I absolutely love the idea of those o'fer teams playing MNF. The Cryboys are my favorite team to hate, bunch of criminals, and the Skins can't even buy a winner. I will simply drink beer and read the winner Tuesday.
