Illegal is illegal. I don't care if you're from Mexico, Korea, or England, come here legally or not at all.

The system is terrible. Awful. To be honest, sitting around and waiting for our immigration system to allow you in legally is like never exceeding the speed limit. Do you think all speeders should have their licenses pulled?

Churchill2004: Make it possible for them to come here legally, and they will.

There is a way for them to come here legally, and they still don't. They need to stop the illegals, then fix the system for legitimate immigration.

Legal immigrants (although it's a struggle) get in the system every single day. It's slow, but it does give immigrants the opportunity to be here legitimately. My buddy's Filipino wife had to do it, took 7 years... no slack from anyone, but she made it.

No farking excuses for illegals. Go get in line, and do the right thing. If you're bypassing the laws, then you obviously have no respect for the laws, and damn sure don't need a helping hand above those who are here legally.

ballchain: There is a way for them to come here legally

Flat-out wrong. Unlike your buddy's Filipino wife, the number of immigration and work visas issued to Mexicans is set absurdly below the actual demand.

The problem is not that all these people came in here in violation of the law, the problem is that all these people came here and the law made no provision for it.

You're not going to turn the US-Mexico border into the Berlin Wall 2.0, and the only thing you'll get from seriously attempting mass deportations of millions of people is to turn the American Southwest into a police state.

The notion of a "right" to live somewhere is the entire problem in the Middle East. I don't understand the notion that anyone has more of a right to be somewhere than anyone else, especially when it's something as arbitrary as being born on a certain side of an imaginary line.

FTFA - The Cho family experience illustrates an often overlooked dimension of America's immigration system -- the lengthy and complicated legal process for immigrants who want to play by the rules, and the bureaucratic limbo that leads some to break the law while they wait.

And just down the FARK page is an article featuring Americans complaining about illegal immigrants. Maybe if the systems was sped up, we wouldn't have so many illegals and the DERPERS would have less to DERP about.

So is every other country in the world that enforces an immigration policy a bunch of racists? Or is it only evil when we do it?
(As Americans it is our responsibility to be the tit that the rest of the world suckles from!)

I mean, they use all sorts of excuses, like trying to keep an economy stable instead of flooding the workforce with extra laborers who'll have to fight over jobs, or making sure disease and criminals don't flood into their countries, but all the test and application fees just mean one thing.

Chest x-rays to rule out TB? Not letting in ex-convicts? Actually scoring people based on how much value they'd bring to the country? That's racist! Totally racistier than racist! It's... doubleplusracist!

If you cross the North Korean border illegally you get 12 years hard labor.
If you cross the Iranian border illegally you are detained indefinitely.
If you cross the Afghan border illegally, you get shot.
If you cross the Saudi Arabian border illegally you will be jailed.
If you cross the Chinese border illegally you may never be heard from
again.
If you cross the Venezuelan border illegally you will be branded a spy
and your fate will be sealed.
If you cross the Mexican borders illegally you will jailed for two years.
If you cross the Cuban border illegally you will be thrown into political
prison to rot.
If you cross the United States border illegally you get:
1 - A job
2 - A driver's license
3 - A Social Security card
4 - Welfare
5 - Food stamps
6 - Credit cards
7 - Subsidized rent or a loan to buy a house
8 - Free education
9 - Free health care
10 - A lobbyist in Washington
11 - Billions of dollars in public documents printed in your language
12 - Millions of servicemen and women who are willing to - and do - die
for your right to the ways and means of our constitution
13 - And the right to carry the flag of your country - the one you walked
out on - while you call America racist and protest that you don't get enough respect.

The same arguments could be made about the baby boomers. Kick them the fark out, and replace them with an equal number of people so motivated to better their life that they're willing to give up everything they know to work the worst jobs in the country, and you'll see what really makes america great.

*not sure if serious*

Unless you mean "them" to refer to the people in TFA, this is just a ludicrous statement. US immigration laws flat out exclude a whole lot of people.

And, of course, in many cases, the legal means of entry/immigration is so farked up as to render it impossible to comply.
