That really depends. If the normal profit margin is 20% (post payroll, debt management, etc) and that allows you to get rich, why not? Maybe someone else will look at that and decide to get into the business. Maybe this will help these companies create extra capital to make the business itself more efficient.

If you were one of the few people who had studied and implemented a company wide emergency procedure, you could basically write your own salary for major companies in every major city in America.

Yep - if I could find a way to make a huge amount of money (legally and ethically), why the hell not? If my company decided to give me enough of the profit after 1-2 major projects that I could retire rich or I could have a job for the rest of my life, why not going with the first rather than the second?

This. It really perplexes me that every time someone, through hard work and/or innovation, comes up with a way to make a lot of money, they get villainized. Isn't that what America is supposed to be all about? Working hard or being innovative, so you can get ahead and make money? But now it's evil?

You have to have high prices to have low prices later. You will see more people entering the area to cleanup the spill, lowering the price. This is not price gouging, it is how things work. If you set the price then you would not have enough people entering the area to work cleaning up the spill. This is how a pro-free-market individual would respond.

If there is some sort of certification, free-marketers would be against that.

We've already criminalized making profits off misery, making profits off sweatshop labor, making profits off illegal immigration, making profits off drugs, making profits off producing any kind of product and selling it, and making profits off any attempt to make the world a better place.
