Pretty tiny. In a proper ER (not inner-city war zone, where we don't have time) we try, particularly for young girls, to minimize scarring with tiny plastic-surgery sutures.

When I was a youngster, my family and I dove American Shoal in the Keys. There must have been a hundred barracuda around the lighthouse, maybe more. We were completely surrounded at all times. One second you'd see them, the next they'd vanish as they turned to face you or dart off. The water was so deceptively clear it took my father several tries to get one within range of his speargun to nail it. When he did, he swam it over to me to see its ghastly, bloodied, twitching form. The thing was as big as me. We ate it that night amid stories of possible poisoning due to its size and feeding habits. Pretty much scarred me for life. Parents do strange stuff to their kids.

#7 made me laugh because it looks like the father is holding both fish and girl up.


I have no problem with how the father reacted. Shows the girl how to behave in an emergency, unlike mother and friend who should have been shoved outboard, along with the farkers yelling "poor snowflake!".

If that had happened to me and my dad didn't get pics, I'd have never forgiven him. I'd be taking my own with my non-bleeding arm. Also swearing a lot, so video would probably be a bad idea.

That's nothing.

When my brother was very young.....third grade....he fell off of some playground equipment and shattered his elbow. His elbow just did not exist anymore, and his lower arm was dangling. It was disgusting.

Our father went through a McDonald's drive-through and got food for himself on the way to the hospital.

Now that's some awesome parenting.
