So far my two posts have "boobies" and "weeners" in them. Next step is to find the keywords. Ah hahaha

I found these Bush quotes the other day, thought I'd share them.

"Natural gas is hemispheric. I like to call it hemispheric in nature because it is a product that we can find in our neighborhoods"

and

"My time in Midland was just inebriating."

It's sorta easy to misunderstand him.

Ricardo, I'm pretty sure you can take that second quote you gave at face value.

I don't think Bush is ever quite sure what he himself is saying in the first place. How are WE supposed to figure it out?

In Texas, to ride-herd means that a cowboy on horseback keeps the cattle in line by cracking the whip, whistling and lasso-ing the odd stray.

"He probably didn't mean it but his metaphor is tinged with being slightly patronising. Translated literally, it means that he will want things to go in the direction he wants them to go."

No, I think he said what he meant. He doesn't take too well to his desires being thwarted or even questioned.

Oh, and anyone unfamiliar with DubyaSpeak.com is truly missing out. After I bought my 2002 desk calendar of humorous and/or stupid Bush quotes, I was afraid there wouldn't be enough left over for next year's edition. Thankfully, though, Bush keeps delivering!

GoldenApple, thank you! I wish everyone would recognize the bastard was from ancient New England money, not truly from Texas, and especially not a Texan by birth.
He is just adopting the cowboy guise to endear himself to the blue collar crowd.

Dumbya isn't a cowboy anymore than Hillary Clinton is a beauty queen. The dumbass probably tries to milk bulls for God's sake. He bought that ranch to make himself look cool, but it's operated by other people. Dumbya is as clueless in ranching as he is in eating pretzels or speaking coherently. I'm hoping that he and his cronies move back east when he gets booted from office.

HumbleGod - No, I think he said what he meant. He doesn't take too well to his desires being thwarted or even questioned.

My thoughts exactly...

Jalapeno - I wouldn't either.

That's all well and good when you're talking about something you have a right to expect dominion over.

However, when the POTUS starts talking about "ride-herding" leaders of other nations down the path he's chosen, it just starts to reinforce the idea that the U.S. has (under the Bush administration) become a bully state determined to mold the world as it sees fit.

IvyMike - Here's my thesis: Everything bad about the US comes from the former confederate states of America. Exhibit A: Bush. Exhibit B: Clinton.

Oh, I don't know... I think every region and state in our union has more than it's fair share of shiat to offer up.

Blame it on the speech writers folks. Bush certainly doesn't come up with anything on his own.

"The cowboy sees complex issues in simple, morally unambivalent ways. There is the good and the bad and this is how George Bush sees things, much to the consternation of much of the country."

This is sort of admitting he's a moron, isn't it?

We've all argued with people like this, people who think that anyone who opposed the war also loved Saddam. These are the kinds of people who, upon learning that war is a possibility, automatically condemn it because war is wrong, wrong, wrong under each and every possible circumstance.

Look how I put both sides of the argument in there. Pretty freakin' diplomatic of me, eh?

2003-06-07 12:07:11 AM
BushWhacker43 is real easy to understand...

For example on the war withIrag; Bush = lie and Americans die. At the rate of about one a day since the war was "won".

On middle east problems - during campaign - "We don't have no dog in that fight." Now on "Road Map to Peace" = cow path to more deaths.

On employment - the sum total of all the jobs created by Bush41 and Bush43 = a negative number ( thanks to Al Franken for pointing this out ).

On the economy - weak dollar good for exports except that Asia and EU economies are a mess and they ain't increasing purchases from US = more unemployment. Tax cuts = increased national debit. Who the fark to americans think pays for their war, homeland security, armed forces - solution; give most to the tax cut to thoses who already aren't able to spend their existing wealth. Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, etc al will put that tax cut to good use creating jobs and stimulating the economy - not.

Bizzaro Bush!

Yeah, right. That is SO wrong. W has used 9-11 to make sure things go the way he wants them to.

Sorry dude, but NYTimes still remains one of the more reliable and informative papers in America, as even many of its detractors will admit. Whether or not one agrees with their editorial board, every politician worth their dirt reads that paper every morning, while the others at least make sure they have an intern do so.

Here I am, Dave. Didn't what RandomBob posted from the NY Times sound like what I said yesterday about the mobile labs not being used for WMD?

Wow. Maybe I should write for the NY Times.
