The complaints include allegations that a new tenant had been bringing 'outsiders' into the shared common room for late night bingo sessions.

You go, gramps!

Jesus, this story is awesome.

She said: 'I complained because I heard allegations were made that I had put my mother in a home because I wanted her two-bed home and that I have men around for sex.'

...

At one social evening, which allegedly finished at 2am, partygoers were said to have hurled abuse at people who asked them to be quiet.

Meanwhile one resident was accused of tearing down bingo posters.

...

He added: 'We have parties quite often at birthdays and Christmas, but we don't have them so much any more because a lot of people are dead.'

I found a picture of the "anti-social behavior" on another site:

'There were some records being played, it was the kind of music we all listen to, old stuff from the 50s and 60s. There was other music as well, more modern stuff, I think it was reggae.

'You could hear it for miles around.'

That wasn't a retiree party. The old man accidently wandered into a Rolling Stones concert.

To be fair, they needed the music on full blast just to hear it. To them it sounded like a quaint Sunday afternoon.

Hey, at the upscale retirement community where I work security on the weekends, we have had fights break out over the Wii tournament on Saturdays and I'm not talking about the visiting grandkids.

Why, yes, there was alcohol involved.

I've often pondered this - when our generation gets old and ends up in these retirement homes with no responsiblities, there will be some serious partying and farking going on. It'll be wildly different from the staid WWII generation that lives there now.

The only hitch in the plan is that those baby-boomer hippies will pass through there before we do and countermeasures will already be in place when we arrive.

Of course their music is loud - they're old and deaf. The parties go into early morning because that's when they wake for the day. It's the equivalent to a college student waking at 8AM to party.

Is having men around for sex illegal now?

After reading the article I knew that this sentence was going to be quoted.

ZigThis: It'll be wildly different from the staid WWII generation that lives there now.

Have you ever been to a retirement community? The "staid WWII generation" is pretty much constantly hammered. Lot of bourbon and gin. Also, Google "std rate retirement communities"- the old folks are drinking and screwing like you wouldn't believe.

There's a reason they all drive golf carts- cars would be too dangerous with their BAC.

When I retire, I'd like to go to those Bingo parties.

Now council officials have sent the pensioners letters warning them about antisocial behaviour.

ANTI-social? Sounds like they were being pretty damned social just from reading the article?!

Muwahahahaaa. Right out of High School, I worked security for a while to make/save up some money before going to an out-of-state college. Easy in because I'm a big guy and was on crutches for 2 out of 5 years (2 hip surgeries) and arms got rather big.
Wound up staying on because of repeated raises - and the fact one contract was a ritzy 4 building complex (big ones), with a commons room and library in the main unit.
Used to love working that place when I could: girlfriends would come over after midnight and we'd go at it in the commons room... not to mention tenants were cool as hell: whiskey, beer, smoke, even food - they'd offer it all LOL
I'm guessing the people in the article griping about BINGO wouldn't have enjoying me working that place when I was a kid.

Now, I'm familiar with the Daily Mail's penchant for overly dramatic "mountain out of molehill" stories, but this has to be some of the derpiest dreck I've seen posted on FARK.

Seriously, Daily Mail? This is what hooks your readers? Damn.
