Ah, I see they're breaking up again... poor ticket/album sales strikes again.

I'll be seeing 5 of the last 8 shows on this tour, hopefully it's worth it

BC: "Are you sure you don't want to come see our tour?"

People: "Eh, maybe some of us will come."

BC: "Well, FINE. You'll be sorry when we're gone."

People: "Eh."

BC: "We're effing serious. We're calling it the 'Say Goodnight' tour. You better come see our last tour."

People: "Ok, maybe."

BC: "Cuz we probably maybe might possibly never ever potentially be playing again."

People: "Ok."

BC: "Ok, we're going to leave the door open a crack here and call it a 'hiatus'. Maybe we'll come back if you show up in strong numbers."

People: "Whatever."

BC: "And I'll be telling everyone private stuff about the band throughout the month of August if you're interested. I dunno."

I really liked the Black Crowes when I was younger. Their bluesy, southern rock style was an interesting precursor to the grunge scene that came several years later.

You captured my feelings almost exactly.

A friend of mine has been trying to convince me to go see them at Red Rocks for a couple of months - I might have already missed them, I'm not sure. I just can't bring myself to care enough to know.

I've seen a few BC shows. I have absolutely no expectation that this tour will even come close to touching the ones I have seen in the past.

/loves me some Black Crowes
//can't be bothered to travel more than 20 miles to see them
///play at Mishawaka and I'll be there in a heartbeat, otherwise just release a cool live album.

Agreed. Too bad they couldn't have patched up the differences.

Met Eddie a couple of times (never after a show strangely enough) and he's exactly like you'd imagine. Very cool dude.

I might see them here in Detroit. Haven't made up my mind yet. The last decade of albums have been 'meh'

i LOVE the black crowes...and i would buy a ticket for h.o.b. in dallas in a new york second
IF
i thought they would mix in their old hits amongst all the deeper cuts that i hear dominate their shows.

don't get me wrong, i've seen one of their live performances on "the 101" on direct tv and they are a great band with a LOT of talent, but if i'm going to shell out my hard earned money i don't want the only song i actually know the words to to be "bad luck blue eyes goodbye".

in fact, if they could play the whole moneymaker album, and about 2 songs off each of their other albums, i'd pay double the ticket price. granted that would be about a 2 1/2 hour show, but that's a rock show! i just paid $20 to see ted nugent last week, he played 2 solid hours (surprisingly didn't ramble on too long about politics and guns), and i think there may have been 1 song i didn't at least 1/2ass know

I like the Black Crowes music but I got real tired of Chris Robinson's off-stage mouth real early in their career.

Nowadays, I avoid most interviews with musicians I like. I'd rather hear their songs than their rock-star nonsense babble.

definitely faces meets exile-era stones, i think. and they do it very well. so... hardly original, but who cares?

True enough, but then again, I don't think that means it's not as good now. I'm more than happy to listen to anything Luther wants to play.

What I would really like is a new NMA release, though.

Not unless he's seeing things. Writing a book must be twice as hard as he thinks it is. Only a fool would think that a webchat is a remedy for their fans interest.

Love 'em or hate 'em, the Crowes are a force. They helped rescue rock 'n roll from the 80's, and that was a good thing.

They were a pretty good southern rock band before they became a boring jam band.

Agreed.

When they reformed in 2005 with Ford, I saw all 7 Hammerstein shows.

They're playing 5 Nokia theater shows this year and I'm only seeing the obvious 2 (Halloween & the last nyc show).

Love Luther in NMAS, but Ford is just a better fit (as was Eddie...Hamhands Adam just wears oven mitts)

The Black Crowes is my favorite band that I have no interest in seeing live again. Southern Harmony is probably my favorite album of all time. I saw them in 1995 when Mark was all farked up, but that isn't the issue. I don't like hearing bands substantially change up songs, hate long jams and don't care for much of what they have done from "Lions" forward. I know playing songs the same way over and over is contrary to their style, and that's fine. But I wouldn't see them live for free.

I saw them with Jimmy Page at the "Live at the Greek" concert. Totally unexpected to go, just kinda happened. That show didn't suck.

This is a man who actually used the words "Do you know who I am?" when prevented from buying beer illegally, so I'd say your assessment is correct.
