I used to love how FNM, Pearl Jam, and the like would slip in little swear words when they were on shows like SNL.

I'm not watching that sh*t. What's the question?

I remember watching that live and recording it on the old vhs. This was before DVR's, when you had to tune into watch the beginning of the show in order to see who the musical guest was going to be.

Have you ever listened to Angel Dust?

What's your point? That I could've found out who the musical guest on SNL was going to be if I had tuned into Alf earlier in the week? Maybe I could have, but watching the beginning of the show, which starts at a set time seem to be a much more reliable method of finding out.

Okay. What was the original point you were trying to make exactly? That you had to tune into a show for 2 minutes to find out what band was going to be on later? Life was rough in ancient times.

Well, you could have mentioned that it was a FNM album...
I've been reading about phencyclidine for the last 10 mins.
I kid, but putting a cover song on your album is kinda weak IMHO.
OK, it's a Lionel Ritchie song, a pretty good one at that, but how many genre's can you really hobble together and expect to be taken seriously?

Schmoppo: I kid, but putting a cover song on your album is kinda weak IMHO.

Knocking someone for putting a cover song on their album is kinda weak, IMHO. They also covered War Pigs by Black Sabbath, so you if you're going there you may as well go whole hog. I mean, do you even listen to music at all? You would probably hate standards, jazz, and blues, since about half of all of it is cover songs in one form or another.

Mike Patton can do no wrong. Each project of his just gets better.

If you're adventurous, check out these clips (1 of 5) of his avant garde experimental metal project Fantomas at the Montreaux Jazz Festival in 2005.

That's about the only appropriate use of the word that I've seen on Fark. Pun intended by the pun-isher.

Thanks. I don't think the performance was as exciting as the SNL one, however the hot, bouncing, Brazillian chicks factor kind of put it over the top.

Angel Dust is a FANTASTIC album. End Of.

My point was that if you happened to miss that first two minutes, you'd have to either watch the entire hour and half or keep checking back every few minutes to see if you were missing anything good.

I hate that crap. Big word, hate; but yeah.

The first time I heard it, I knew that was the future...and I was a long-haired Heavy Metal fan.

That song signaled the end of my era. My high school days were over and even today, I can't hear without hoping harm to every single member of "faith no more".

tetzy: That song signaled the end of my era.

You need to stop blaming FNM for all the damage that hair bands did to your precious metals. Countless metal bands went on just as strong as they ever had, they just stopped playing butt rock on Mtv is all. And good riddance.

mat catastrophe: No they didn't. (NSFW) (new window)

I'm pretty sure Run DMC and Aerosmith can take the credit. But if you don't consider that one metal enough, Kerry King played the guitar on No Sleep Til Brooklyn, which predates Anthrax's little comedic novelty.

2010-07-29 09:11:15 AM
My rhetorical question is: anger and obscurities of musical taste aside, this is a great tune. But why can't MORE great tunes exist? Instead we have Katy Perry feturing Little John or the Justin Beiber Girl Band
I'd actually like to hear something rock a bit?

2010-07-29 10:22:36 AM
prodigalOne: I'd actually like to hear something rock a bit?

Then, like, go out and find some rock. There is plenty of it out there. New rock. Good rock. Lots of it. It's just not in the top 40 is all.

You don't NEED to listen to top 40 music, you know? It's 2010. There is a world of choices at your fingertips. More music available than at any other time in human history, and easier to get than at any time in human history.

Would I like current popular music to be better? Sure. But ultimately it doesn't have a huge impact on me if it isn't. Over the last decade, I don't think I've run dry on good new music for any longer than a few weeks. Lots to listen to, if you're willing to find it.

The real question is: did the fish live?
