It seems most of the artists mentioned in that article never did overcome their creative block. Of the ones who did, we never learn how exactly they managed to start creating again (aside from vague references to drugs and hypnotherapy). At the end the author mentions a bunch of artists who used drugs for stimulation, but it's unclear whether any of them ever suffered from writer's block (I'm pretty sure Byron never did).

All in all, a confused jumble of pointless anecdotes.

I imagine there are as many alcoholic artists as there are alcoholic accountants.
